Caller said he’s calling from Metro Bank’s fraud department. He knew my first and last name, address and part of my long 16 digit card number. He said I had a few transactions on my account that got flagged, 2x Argos £700+ transactions. Wanted to know a few of my previous transactions to confirm it’s me… sounded fake and he was mumbling and stuttering a lot and didn’t go through the usual security questions. Told him I’d call metro bank myself to be safe. I used to work for a bank, best practice is to call your bank asap with a number that you know is legit. and don’t give any information out! Metro bank confirmed they hadn’t called.

Same as other comments. I received a call from "Revolut", and that they have blocked 3 transactions. He asked me to verify if I had done those transactions. He was fishing for information on the kind of payment apps that I use, like Apply Pay or Google Pay. He had my name, card last 4 digits, and he was planning to transfer my call to another department who can help me block those transactions, and freeze my card. As he was rumbling, went into the app, and deactivated the card, and told him that. He immediately ended the call. I didn't suspect that he was a scammer until the last minute. They are good. As usual, they are rushing you to do things for me on the call so that you won't have much time to think.

Posing as bank representative from Revolut, said that I had 2 suspicious transactions from Argos for £700, and from somewhere else. I hanged up, and blocked the number +1 800 869 3555. Checked their number in Google, it seems to be a scam. They might call from similar, but different numbers like +1 800 869 3557. Also, they have phoned using other number - +442033228352. Be careful!

Scams pretending to be someone calling from revulot. They asked for my last transaction information to convince me they were verifying my identity. Then they told me to transfer my money from this bank to another bank ( so they can get the money if they have my code!) Be wary of any calls, texts or emails purporting to be from your bank, the police or a telecoms company asking for personal or financial details, or for you to transfer money!

Attempted scam connected to a COVID-19 PCR smishing site, where they obtain your card details. Claimed to be from Revolut fraud detection department. Hung up on me when I said I was not going to give out any information and would contact Revolut directly. Caller sounded credible. However, was definitely connected to the COVID smishing scam to obtain my initial details. I walked into the first phase because I was expecting to be contacted by the NHS regarding a PCR test. However, I'd only provided a Revolut disposable virtual card number, so no damage. Was able to quickly terminate the card and was saved by doing both this and my natural caution in quickly realising I'd submitted details to a scam PCR site and the caller was likely part of the scam. Narrow escape for me. If you give them your Revolut access PIN and they already have the mobile number associated with your account, this will likely be enough for them to change the PIN and lock you out.

SCAM! SCAM! Some fraudulent transactions had been made in my account and Revolut frozen it. The scammer contacted me to cancel the card and send me a new one to my address. I had moved recently, so they needed my new address to keep using my account. They asked me to confirm that the phone number they were calling me was from Revolut and I checked on Google this phone number. When I said I didn't want another card and I wouldn't give them my new address, they hung up the call. SCAM!!

Called pretending to be from Revolut fraud wanting to scam my account didn’t fall for it and put the phone down as soon as I realised and contacted Revolut. Apparently they can copy a tel number easily so be warned! Revolut only provides customer support via the in-app chat. If someone contacts you via phone: +44 203 322 8352, +44 800 0318470, 0800 0318435, or any other number, it’s likely to be a scam. We only ever use this number to receive incoming calls. We will not send your SMS authentication code from our UK phone number.
