5Woman called and claimed to be from a govt department and was checking on our use of music in a public place. She asked me to confirm my full name and date of birth but when I asked her which dept she was from she said something like "The Department of Internal Entertainment" and then when I then asked for her office location she hung up. These people are vile scourgers who can not be bothered doing a useful job.
It's not just suspicious - it's dangerous. Companies like these collect a little bit of information from your company one day, a little bit more on another day. After several such calls they may have sufficient information to mimic your company and request a change in your telephone service provider - at best. DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFORMATION TO THEM !!!
Very aggressive in their approach. Refuse to accept that we have no interest in music in the workplace - which seems to be the gist of the call - and that we are not interested in further calls. They keep calling nevertheless and even now I have blocked their number they continue to leave voicemail messages. A huge nuisance caller.
A lady named Mia rang up asking to speak to my partner regarding a music licence whether it was for in the workplace or a performance, I wasn't sure. In either case, I am the one who deals with such things and the lady kept on wanting to speak to my partner. Then she asked me if I had the authority to deal with it, and I said that I did. I was just about to confirm that no license was required when she hung up on me. A genuine call from the Performing Rights Society (who shares the same number unfortunately) would never do that.
Lady asked about my music habbits and wants to sell a licence product from a company I've never heard of.
