Limited information: Multiple reports indicate suspicious activities, primarily related to financial matters and alleged connections to HMRC, with callers often withholding their organization's name. Common tactics include claiming to be from Inland Revenue or discussing company financials, supplier debt, and turnover, sometimes with a sense of urgency. Some reports mention a South African accent and names like 'Dee' or 'Mr. Dickson.' One report alleges an attempt to exploit an HMRC winding up petition for financial gain. Another disturbing report mentions calling to speak with a recently deceased person. Despite 11 reports, direct evidence of malicious intent is somewhat circumstantial, relying heavily on user suspicion and behavior typical of scams rather than explicit fraud confirmation.
Likely purpose: Scam or unauthorized financial inquiry, potentially phishing for sensitive company information or exploiting HMRC processes for gain.

ringing to speak to recently deceased person
Caller said called Dee in SA accent and to call back on 0121 2011 772 no reason given
Dee proclaimed he was from Inland Revenue.
Have had a number of messages left by Dee, supposedly to do with HMRC. Returned call to see what it was about, the person i spoke to asked a lot of questions about HMRC and supplier debt, as well as our turnover. Obviously didn't give them any information! All sounded a bit suspicious!
South African woman called Dee left message on answer phone to call back. Won't be doing as after reading above comments, it's a scam!
Wants to have a conversation "of a financial nature".
Called twice - South African don't know whether male or female but both messages said it was about a company financial matter and the second one said it was urgent.
cold callers
South African guy claiming to be Mr Dickson left a message on our voicemail and asked us to call back on 0121 201 1772. Clearly a scam so I won't be calling Mr DICK-son back ;) Sounds like the same idiot who has been calling people from 0121 201 1739
