Rang to say we needed meter changing and fixed a date - so far so normal - but then put me through to a recorded line where they asked for our charity number and charity name (it's all publicly available data but felt weird) and then asked if I had the authority to make changes to our utilities, so I got cold feet and hung up. Rang the real National Grid, they don't change meters it's the energy supplier, and they don't even cover London

Anyone who starts a call with hello how are you, you know to avoid. Claims to be the national grid and doing works in the area but only wants to talk to the business owner specifically about it, red flag there.

Called our company multiple times to book in a change of meter (1st red flag as we don't have one). says he was from 'national grid' and will turn off our electric for 90 mins when he comes and needs to book a date. I told him to email us everything in writing before he can book in and he refused (2nd red flag). then he was nasty on the phone and said well we will come anyway and that's on you! and put the phone down. good lucky matey if you're reading this as i am reporting the number and you wont be touching a thing if you come :)

Caller claimed to be from national Grid Meter Department. Called the business I work for saying that our meter was displaying incorrect information and needed changing. Wanted to arrange a time and date to install a new electricity meter. Took his number and never called him back. Did not trust what he was saying.
