Genuine call from Amex Customer Services regarding a dispute, who left a rather vague voicemail. I did not answer and called their service centre directly who confirmed this is genuine - which I would always do anyway.

Sounded a little bit dodgy to start with, but like a previous person has mentioned many people are working from home at the moment. So in retrospect I put it down to this. My call was regarding setting up a new card and they were chasing up documents that I hadn't sent yet. The only thing that made me check the number was that they asked about my security questions. However they only asked for two digits as opposed to the whole thing. Anyway, I called American Express directly and they put me through to the new card department and they confirmed that is was a legitimate call. They then pointed me to the email that I had previously missed. Oops!

Called me on my mobile and I didn't answer as didn't recognise the number. Looked it up here and saw it might be an Amex number. Called the legit number on the back of my card and they said no, it wasn't them, and they hadn't called me. Beware!

Received a call from this number but I missed the call. Called back and got an automated number claiming to be from American Express. Contacted Amex through the online chat and that stated that they had no record of anyone contacting my on that day. Unfortunately seems like a scam.
