6Caller said they were from an energy firm regarding loft insulation as like other message left here. Also asked if I wanted a free inspection. Declined their offer respectfully.
I received a call from this number, similar to previous comments... It sounded like an English woman's voice. Caller: "I am calling from an Energy company in the local area and we have identified that you have loft insulation, which the government has deemed as an irritant and hazardous to health" Me: I see... "Do you want to arrange a free inspection at no cost to yourself to check if you need your insulation replaced?" Me: Sorry where, are you calling from? Caller: "We are an energy company, that works with the government and use a number of different surveyors." Me: I understand, but what legal entity are you calling from? Caller: ***Interrupts me when I say that I understand*** "So, do you want to arrange for a free inspection, at no cost to you?" Me: Sorry, you interrupted me and I was not finished speaking. You haven't identified who you are, and my mobile number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Caller: ***Hangs up the phone abruptly*** I have reported the call to Action Fraud (https://www.actionfraud.police.uk/report-phishing) Do a Google search for the website if you don't want to use the above link! ;) Please do report any calls that you think may be trying to scam you, as it may prevent more vulnerable people from falling victim to the scam. Take care
Loft insulation. Used scare tactics to introduce the topic. “The aging insulation in my loft causes lung problems”. I asked who she was calling from. She reluctantly stated “we work on behalf of a number of energy companies”. I again asked who was calling. She continued to talk over me. I asked “are you not prepared to tell me who you’re calling from. She ignored this and continued with her script. I stated you are not prepared to tell me who you’re calling from. She continued talking over me. I hung up
Initial male voice 'Gavin, your local energy advisor.. .. interrupted by a female wanting to talk about my loft. The first voice sounded like a Bot/AI, the second was probably a real person, but if these crooks are so confused with when calling it doesn't say much for their ability at actually conning anyone Clearly a scam - similar cals have been harassing people for some time
They were very vague, wanted to do an energy smart meter comparison with me, apparently they are servicing people in the area. Seemed a little awkward.
They claim to be from an Energy company wanting to advise on how to save on my monthly bill. Not sure how they got my number, unsolicited call.
