Said they were from Vodafone and were going to lower my bill and sending me a Apple Watch for being a good customer. Sent me codes through Vodafone text number. Emailed me directly from a good looking Vodafone email. Had access to ALL my personal details from name/address/DOB/emails/phone numbers/previous addresses/Bank Account details etc with no prompting A very very dangerous scam.

Someone called “HENRY PETER” called, claiming to be phoning from Vodafone. He was phoning to offer me a discount to my bill. He was able to text me from Vodafone’s usual phone number and send me an email from a legitimate Vodafone email, plus he had all my personal details. Stupidly, I thought it was legit because he was able to access sensitive data and Vodafone’s accounts. I only became skeptical when he asked for my bank details to apply the discount. This is where I feigned the stupidness and said I can’t remember where my card is. He sounded very peeved when I told him and became quite pushy and started asking me if I have a picture of my card, or if I could use my banking app, then insisted he call me back later once I find my card. Yeah, alright, sure mate! Phoned Vodafone on 191 immediately after and a member of the team I spoke to there said Vodafone never call to offer discounts (quite odd as I have actually had Vodafone legitimately call in the past with genuine discounts + promotions), and also that there was no note on my account that anyone from Vodafone had been in touch with me today, so I should assume it was a scam and to block the number and not engage with it. They called off the number 0131 278 0277, but gave me a call back number of 0131 618 9892.

Claimed to be from Vodafone offering to reduce my bill by 40% and I only had 2 days to to do it. They wanted my details but when I gave them details that were not true they didn't question it. Then they were going to offer me an apple smart watch for free in the post as a thankyou. Finally they asked for my bank details to change my contract for a new one at 40% off. I told them to call back and then checked with Vodafone and three who confirmed it was a scam

I received a call from a London number: he said he was from Vodafone (but with a very strong asian accent - difficult to understand) and offered to lower my monthly bills. I didn't believe him and asked for a number I could call back; he gave me this number and I checked online only to get confirmation it was a scammer! BEWARE: somehow he managed to get me a text message that appeared to be from Vodafone, so I don't know whether they have found a way to make it look legit or they got into my My Vodafone account (I'll change my password to be sure).
