Debt Direct have been calling me from an unknown number on my mobile, asking me to press five if I want to know more about IVA bla bla. I don't, but I pressed five the other day because I wanted to get through to them to stop them calling again. I got a call from a Scottish bloke today on 0115 828 5039. Strop strop, no sir, we are not calling you from unknown numbers. He keeps denying it and then I hang up after telling him to take my number off his database. Doesn't anyone here know if making cold marketing calls from unlisted numbers is illegal or not? I would call up the parent company but they must be used to that. The law is the only thing that will fix them.

Very aggressive attempt to interest me in IVA arrangements. They say they are calling everyone over 18. I said that must be about 40 million people, and how do they know I'm over 18. She said that if I have a mobile contract I must be over 18. I said who says I have a mobile contract. I said I hadn't given permission for anyone to contact me on the number for marketing purposes. Repeated lies that this is not marketing. Eventually it took about 4 minutes to persuade the very argumentative cow to remove my number and not call me again.

unhelpful, rude, annoying, unsolicited calls to number(s) already registered with TPS (I've escalated a formal complaint via TPS). When I returned the call, I too got the answering machine "this number can't take incoming calls" so called them on 0800 069 9303. they confirmed that they're Debt Masters Direct but wouldn't tell me how they got my number or why they were ringing me. I spoke to Harriet Ripley but I don't believe that's her real name, in fact I told it was a made up name and called her "not Harriet" all the way through our conversation; she never challenged me on it. She's apparently the "manager" but she also answers all the incoming phone calls. (Hmmm, smells of bullsh!t to me!) She said she works for the MD whose name is Becky Hutchinson but wouldn't give me any contact details for the MD to allow me to make a formal complaint. Threatened reporting to TSP, she said go for it...

what people dont realise is that these people are actually only calling to try and discuss a UK Government program called IVA/Protected trust deed. and this program saves thousands of pounds for people paying more than they need to through private debt management companys. i am a debt collecter and know that what this company is doing is getting buisness for their insolvency practitioner,but they are also genuinly making it affordable to become debt free within a set time period. which by law is our rite

Continual pestering calls, then 'phone goes down, when you answer. Advising them that any further calls they make I will charge to receive them, then issue court summons for payment. There is precedent for this, some guy won several hundreds in court last year.

Got a miss call from this number, when I called back there been automatic answer machine telling me that there are unable to take calls? Another spam company? I could not find any previous comments, so new number on roll. Only it sais that company is from Glasgow.
