I've received two phone calls from the following number - 01427 610075 concerning the router on my computer. They had my personal details and confirmed my name and address. They said I would be entitled to a £20 refund and the government was about to fine them if they didn't correct people's computers. When they started to talk about money I became suspicious. I put the phone down, dialled 1471 and their number is no accessible. I phoned Talktalk and was told this is a scam albeit a very plausible one. Beware as they appear to be professional.

I have had several calls of this nature, all saying they are talktalk and there is a problem with my internet. Wanted me to turn on my computer and follow their instructions. Told them other hackers had already tried that one and I hung up

When I said I was no longer with talk talk, he Claimed I was due a refund and wanted me to access my PC. I said talk talk would have my bank details for a refund if I was due one and I refused to access PC or give any further information over the phone. I noted the number on my caller display and called it back to receive a number not recognised message.
