An absolute scam, they tried my parents who luckily got suspicious and cut them off. They have tried a few times since. Reported to BT and they confirmed it’s a scam. What a nasty group of people targeting the elderly. Karma will bite them in the arse eventually.

(Indian accent call centre)Claiming to be from BT Openreach. Despite using a different provider they insisted that everything went through BT openreach. What they were trying to sell is anybodies guess but I believe it is bound to be a scam especially as it is an unsolicited call

I got a call from this number and missed it so I attempted to call back. The phone was always engaged. After checking on here and seeing previous comments, I'm glad I didn't get through. I know my husband got a call from an Indian sounding man claiming to be from BT the other night, luckily he didn't engage in a conversation

This number has called twice over the last three weeks. They claim to be from BT Openreach and say our broadband has been compromised. Our broadband is not with BT. I quickly ended the call without saying this. In the afternoon we had a call from another number (0118-981 5968). It was an automated voice saying our broadband would be cut off that evening, adding "Press 1 for BT helpline and 2 for other providers". A very transparent scam.

Indian chap said he was calling from BT and got me to check performance monitor on computer, then when I couldn’t understand what he was saying the penny dropped and I realised it was a scam. Turned off the computer and ended the call, hope they didn’t have time to access the PC. Will report it to Ofcom on Monday

Female with an Indian Subcontinent accent. Claimed to be from BT Openreach. Asserted that equipment change at the exchange has made my broadband unstable. I did not permit her to finish the script. Possible outcomes include DNS poisoning and installation of malware.
