Rented a house and agent used Homelet for referencing. Despite not “opting in” (ie, I opted out) for marketing calls I am receiving multiple calls a day presumably to sell me insurance. Referencing is complete so Homelet have no legitimate reason to call. Number is now blocked and reported to Information Commissioners Office for breaking GDPR rules.

Had to give them my details for tenancy referencing, but they're using them to try to sell me tenants insurance, even though I specifically opted out - or rather, didn't opt in, because GDPR requires the tick box to be opt in not opt out. They've got that part right at least, shame that they missed the part where they aren't allowed to just ignore whether you opted in and use your personal data for marketing anyway. I've reported them to ICO for spam calls and will report again under "your personal information concerns" once I've made a complaint to HomeLet. We applied for a property Agent used Homelet. I clicked to say didn’t want people contacting re good. I’m am having several calls a day in less than 24 hours have had 7 emails for insurance! The credit reference is complete they should not be contacting me now!

Rented a house, landlord used homelet to check references etc.. since then have had nonstop calls from them 2,3,4 times a day, leaving voicemails also. Depsite messaging the number to 'stop receiving messages'.. have now blocked the number

Called to offer quotes on tenants insurance after they did my credit checks for Edward Mellor. Told them to call me back on 22nd and they called me 3 times within the first week of their initial call. Answered the first call and reminded them to call me back on the 22nd. By the 2nd additional call I can't be bothered with them now, so I've blocked them. They will continue to harass you, so just don't bother answering

Aggressive selling of home insurance and internet packages - despite the fact that I specifically filled out the form telling them not to contact me for marketing purposes. So unprofessional, surely goes against GDPR as well.

telling me the next stage of referencing was insurance but when I told him thats untrue and infact id passed referencing and signed contracts and was not falling for his scam he then repeated to call me 12 times in a row being aggresive.

I completed a property referencing check through homelet last week and now got this call out of the blue asking me to set up insurance for the new property I'm moving in. The caller refered to me by my family name as if it was my first name without a miss or Mrs title, really weird. Tried to get me to discuss insurance I said I've seen it online and I'm not interested and he said oh that's a shame then and I hung up. A really bizarre phone conversation really, this sales person had not one ounce of customer service skill in him...

Up-selling insurance / broadband deals after I had to use them for an estate agent credit check. Unticked all marketing options but they've called me 4 times in 2 days, left voicemails and ignored my request to leave me alone. Reported to ICO as GDPR non-compliance and recommend you all do the same.
