Rang us and wanted to 'speak to x about their car accident on x date with x vehicle' purporting to be insurance company. Total scam. Our car was at the repair shop on that date BUT on a job we had put it in for, nothing to do with an accident. Rude, abusive when challeneged

A Manchester number, so thought is was someone I know. However it was an unpleasant person who identified themselves as being from a company called Motor Investigations. He wanted to talk about insurance. I asked him why he was calling and he was aggressive. I hung up. Definitely a scam of some sort.

Got card today by a rude little **** from Manchester who told me I'd filled in an online form searching for car ins & had been involved in an 'incident'...neither is true...I don't even have a car. He was insanely rude & I'm furious with whoever these cowboys are. I'd like an end put to companies like this.

Received a call from this number and when I answered it, I heard the person slam the phone down. I figured they had hung up thinking it was going to vmail so decided to call it back. A man answered and when I told him someone had just called me, he asked if I was a business. I asked him to tell me who they were first and he said, "Tut oh.." Then hung up!

My partner and I get a call from this lot every day. My partner answered once and was told she was due an upgrade on her mobile. On querying this, because her contract is sim only, they became evasive. The phone only rings 3 times when they call. This appears to be an automated calling system. If you answer you'll be put through to someone ( eventualy ) if you don't it never gets to the fifth ring and goes to voicemail.

I was driving along the M62 when my mobile phone rang and as it was a Manchester number I answered it as I thought it could be someone I knew from work. I was furious when it was just an automated sales call !!! My mobile number is registered with TPS and has been for many years. How dare these untrustworthy companies phone members of the public when they are driving on a very busy motorway, it is absolutely outrageous !!!!

received call from 0161 814 9905 on my mobile, on answering, automated message saying press (1) to accept your refund of payment protection insurance press (2) for - I immediately hung up. Suspect had I pressed either number I could potentially have racked up high mobile connection charges

Received a call from this number tonight Nd on 2 other occasions in the last week. The man told me I was due an upgrade on my O2 mobile - he said he was calling from O2 but knew nothing about my phone and started asking about my bill payments to which I said 'you should know this information if you're calling from O2' at this point he got agitated and said he was trying to do me a favour, that I was being argumentative and unhelpful - I reminded him that he'd actually called me and that I was not interested in upgrading. I asked him to remove my details from the database and to never call me again... He would not stop talking telling me I was uncooperative - I hung up in the end! I called O2 customer services they said that they pass on customer details and that this may be a third party seller - nobody from O2 had actually called. I've asked O2 NOT to pass on my details in future. Beware of this number!

This number does NOT belong to Versatile Finance (PPI Claims). I have called up Versatile and asked them about this blag number and what they claim to be providing, and they have no information on the blag number. The woman who I spoke to at Versatile said that they do provide information with O2, The Carphone Warehouse and PPI Claims. But not with BT and home insurance renewal. Versatile told me that they will look into this blag phone number and if anyone has anymore information call Versatile Finance (number on their website if you google it), or report the blag phonecalls to the ICO or the police. Versatile Finance and this number are based in the same area in Manchester (around Princess Way and Deansgate), but from the way the woman, who works at Versatile, was so shocked by these blag phonecalls and what they were asking of the people they were phoning, I don't think they have any connection and it is a blag company using Versatile's policies/approach as their own. Avoid this number, and if you do answer, I would advise getting a pen and paper and writing down everything they say and getting as much information as possible from them so the culprits can be found. Because I don't know about everyone else but this has been months of annoying/worrying phone calls and I never give my number out unless its someone I know. Hope this information was useful!

Just received a call from this number, stating they are BT and I owe money on my phone line. I informed the guy, I'm not a BT customer and actually with another company. He read out my Name, Address and Phone number, and according to his system I owe money to BT. I again informed him, that I use another provider and have never used BT, and I would be informing BT of this phone call. The phone then went dead.

Received call from a woman saying to be updating my google live advert and wanted to check all details were correct. Read out address and then requested an email to send details. I asked if this was free or was there a cost as I have never paid for a google advert. the phone then went down abruptly. Tried ringing back but you cant get through.

Had a number of silent calls from this number. Just now they called again and I got a woman with a strong Manchester accent who told me that the company name was 'Versatile'. In the background I heard typical 'call center' noise. I said I'd never heard of the company. She said that the company did exist and was based in Manchester. I told her I'd guessed that from the accent. She acknowleded that she had a Manchester accent. She said that they were regulated by the Ministry of Justice and the National Credit Database had shown that I was owed money from a credit agreement I had taken out. I said "Please stop calling me. Please remove my contact details from your system. If you or anyone from this number calls me again I WILL contact the Information commissioner, I WILL get you fined." then hung up. The number they called has been registered with the Telephone Preference Service for well over a decade.
