These people are a damned nuisance. It is , as others have said, a market research company called nems . Their website offers this email address for requests to cease calling your number: [email protected] - remember to include your number in the email.

Spam call to my answerphone. Sounds like telemarketing. Answerphones are great! Record "Humberside Poli.. (static) (pause) Sorry about that.. (clear throut)" "How can I help you?" It's amazing how many spammers hang up before the beep!

Called us in the evening after we'd had a busy day at the Office, just relaxing after evening meal - extremely annoying - unsolicited and unwarranted call. Time these "Market Research" Companies were held responsible.

I received a telemarketing call from a consultancy firm based in Middlesbrough about 6 weeks ago, I asked to be removed from their data base. They called again the following day so I blocked them from my phone (this simply sends their call directly to answer phone) since then they have called me 26 times and left a recorded message every time. I feel this amounts to harassment. The number is 01642 257875 the name of the company seems to be deliberately garbled in their message, '[something] Consultants'

Just rang me to say they were doing a survey on retired people in Bury St Edmunds and could I spare 3 minutes. Told her no and she accepted that. Does she really know if I am retired or not?

Re 01642373357 Received call saying they were conducting a survey on behalf of Bath & North East Somerset Council. I do a lot of work for the council and was surprised. I said 'Really, that's unusual. But go ahead'. Caller mumbled 'we're a market research company' and then hung up. I have let the council know as I have no idea what they were looking for but it clearly is not a legitimate company.

I got a call from the above number on 9th May 2014 early evening. I am Ex-Directory and registered with TPS to stop cold calls. Nems is a 'Market Research' company so the law does not prevent them from annoying people by calling them. I frequently travel internationally with my work and to be woken up with a cold call when I am trying to get some sleep after 20 or more hours traveling is annoying beyond all belief. To be fair when I said we do not accept cold calls of any kind the girl said 'fair enough' and rang off. The last time my wife answered the questions from 'market research' company, we got bombarded with sales cold calls a week later from companies saying that they agreed that they could call us. We never agreed to any cold calls. I can't say if this would have happened with NEMS but once bitten twice very shy & cautious! They called me at 7.30pm I ignored them, didn't recognise the number. I get at least 3-5 of these blasted calls daily, including SUNDAYS. I never answer anymore.

I am fortunate that my cordless phone has a "blocked caller "list. So I just put this on there to keep company with all the other timewasters. I am on TPS and exdirectory and not on the for sale electoral register.

These callers are a damned nuisance, now we leave our answerphone to filter all calls and this one never listens long enough to hear the end of our outgoing message. They are not the only ones who make unsolicited calls. Yes we are registered TPS and off the electoral roll.

I have found out that the TPS does not stop, or apply to, organisations that do market research! Yes, I was astounded by that. Check the TPS web site and see for yourselves!

I don't know anyone in Middlesborough and I don't expect to be called up on a Sunday afternoon by a legitimate business. They didn't leave a message just moved on to another 'sucker' I suspect.

I use an answerphone to screen calls and they hung up during the message, so no idea what they wanted. If it was important they would have surely left a message, and you'd think they'd only call someone on TPS if it was important. I am on TPS, and they didn't leave a message, therefore possible scam / company of bad practice.

'Lewis' called me yesterday evening claiming to be representing Colchester Borough Council. I immediately thought it was a wheeze to get credibility and replied that it was surprising an outfit like CBC wasn't aware of the TPS. And hung up.
