Sounds of a noisy office in the background. Started his script with "I am your computer technician" then burst into laughter, presumably as the result of a comment from someone else in his office. He hung up before I had the chance to do the same. Attempted computer fraud.

Had a the same calls a number of times from these guys. The response when they say that my computer is infected is "Oh great, so glad you've called. Let me take your contact details and I can put you in touch with the police that are dealing with this. They then hang up. Had a slight twist on the them recently. The guy went through his script then perhaps he recognised me, he said "now listen to me mutha fucker", to which I replied "Did you just call me a mutha fucker?" He said "yes you mutha fucker" So I calmly asked why am I a mutha fucker" and was told "Because you fuck you mother" Luckily I was able to correct that "Actually it's your mother I'm fucking, would you like to speak to her?" Again he hung up.

Same pitch.....Microsoft or some such representative needs me to turn on my PC so he can fix the problem. I've reacted by laughing at him or using heavy sarcasm, swearing ,saying I don't have a computer.....still the calls come.

Gave the same spiel as everyone else reports about how he is from 'windows' and my computer is running slow. Listened for a few few seconds then hung up. Phone rings 10 seconds later and its him again angrily asking why I hung up on him! Really? There appears to be no way one can stop these conmen from calling you!

Had several calls so far, I'm always polite but firm in my no thanks response. The 'best' reply I have had so far was that if I didn't listen the caller was going to block my computer and it would never work again. I think it might have been the same guy who back in the day explained to me that there was no TV available in Calcutta because the buildings were too high!!!

We have had exactly the same for the past week...... Keeps ringing asking about the computer.... One gentleman told my husband to f*%k off & hung up!! As my husband told him we don't have a computer !! Again today I've just taken a call asking about my computer! I replied what computer, He replies the windows computer; this goes on for some time, I just told him I don't have one & to stop harassing us!! They are conmen & should be band!!

I have had numerous calls from this number, despite being with the TPS. Same as everyone else says, they claim to be from 'Windows'. If I tell them not to call me again or say I've reported them, they just hang up. Everyone should report to Ofcom. It just makes me mad that they will harass and take advantage of more naive or trusting people and con money out of them. Sickening.

I have been called 6 times in the last week from this number, they say they are doing a survey but I have told them repeatedly that I don't answer surveys and to remove me from their list. I've tried a new tactic, I now tell them that if they send me £50 I will do their survey, but that I will do nothing without payment .... that has stumped them a bit, a few have hung up, the one today said if I answered the questions first he would send me a cheque .... yeah right! I said I was doing a survey of my own and could he tell me the exact name, address and telephone number of the company he was calling from so I could report them - he hung up!

I pay BT for anonymous call rejection, I'm registered with the TPS, I always tick the 'do not share' box on every form, I've opted out of the edited electoral register and I've complained to OFCOM. Yet this number 02031291358 still gets through. How I wonder? Where is the authority with any teeth to stop these calls (that vary from the unbelievably aggressive 'Windows' scammers to silent calls). I think I've done all I can apart from call the Police, but I wonder if even they can do anything...

I have just spoken to the guy. He was calling from Windows. You mean Microsoft - I said. No Maam we are Windows. From Microsoft - I said No from Windows. Your computer is sending a lot of viruses - he said - we can see it on our system and your computer is very dangerous. Please let us fix the problem otherwise you and other users are going to suffer windows crash. Which of my computers ? How many you have ? 5 - I lied - and 3 laptops. consternation on the line , guy is thinking what to say and they all Mac - I have finished the conversation with a twist. silence.hung up.

I answered a call from this number earlier today. The guy said, in broken English, he was from Windows Technical Help. He said there was a problem which meant that my computer would crash at any time and he asked me to go to my computer and switch it on. I challenged him saying that I didn't believe him, at which point my husband walked in. The guy assured me he was genuine and that I must do as I said. My hubby shook his head and told me to ask him which computer he was on about, which I did, and he replied "the one that's running Windows". I told him that all the computers ran Windows. He then said it was the one that was connected to the internet and I told him all of my computers were connected. He replied that any of the computers would do. I asked him for his phone number and the number he gave me was a Newcastle code. I then told him I didn't believe him and I was going to the police about it. He immediately went "oh my God, oh my God. No ma'am please don't do that, please no maam" and he started crying. I asked him what he had to hide and he begged me not to go to the police and cried more. He then ended the call. A scam looking to put malware onto my computer.

6 x Unsolicited calls from Indian sounding male and female regarding windows problem on my computer. My wife took the first calls and told them we didn't have any problems, caller became aggressive. The last call the phone was handed to me, I asked for his Microsoft ID and a telephone number to call him back on. He again was aggressive and and said he could sort the problem if I was in front of my computer. I asked for his supervisor and the phone went dead. Do not take any advice from these fraudsters who no doubt will compromise your computer and your security.

On answering the telephone whilst celebrating my grandmothers 80th, I was greeted by someone with a foreign accent calling from windows about the computer, my grandmother doesn't have one, so when I said we didn't have a computer she told me she knew we had a laptop and called me a liar. When I confronted her about both the lack of computer and being accused of being a liar she told me she had the details as we were registered with windows using these details. When I repeated that we were not registered and did not have a computer she said liar liar liar and hung up, followed by a silent call 2 minutes later. Do not fall for this, it is likely that most homes have windows and therefore easy to fall into the trap. Anyone that was genuine would not speak to a customer like that. I'm just grateful it wasn't my grandmother who answered the call.

Had a call from a "Peter"-asian guy to fix problems on my computer. I strung the conversation asked for address was very vague. Asked him for his National Insurance number and he gave me 0483EPJH458. When I told him that he was a con man and the police was on their way to speak to him. He hung up.

Caller spoke with an accent appropriate to the Indian continent, despite a London number being displayed. He said that he was calling from 'Windows' about a problem with my computer. He said 7t was showing a fault. I asked which machine - he said the Windows 7 one. I asked him which of thecseveral Windows 7 machines I have was giving the problem and he replied 'The newest one'. I said OK and he went on to state that they were trying to send some vital security updates to the machine, but were being refused access (Well of course they would be). I asked him to repeat what he had said and when he had told him that Microsoft do not send unsolicited updates. He said 'We are not Microsoft - we are WINDOWS (caps for his emphasis). I told him that he was having a laugh and after he struggled to find that response on his script, he hung up. Beware folks, they want you to download malware onto your machines, which could do anything from phish for personal information to locking your machine until you pay a ransom to recover it.

This number telephoned my number today telling me he is called Roger and he was calling from Windows, asking me to put my computer on. At this point I started to question him as his language was not very clear I also asked where he got my number from at this point he became abusive and clearly threatened me with violence. I HAVE REPORTED THIS TO THE POLICE r

I said hello and was met with silence, then eventually hello, hello. i didn't reply and they hung up. i've been bothered with numerous calls over the past year from a variety of numbers and withheld numbers. BT are useless. i also have an ex-directory number and registered with Telephone preference service.

My mother received an unsolicited call from this number stating that they were from 'Windows' and that they knew why my mother's computer was running slow. The caller asked if my mother was on her computer as that time. Anyway, my mother ended the call, dialed 1471 and recorded the number. She then telephoned the number (!) spoke with a different person and, having explained the situation, was told that it was untrustworthy and that they were from Microsoft (!!). I've explained the facts of computing life to my mother...! My mother was prepared to accept that the person that she subsequently spoke to was genuine (!!!) - I've explained why I take the alternate view, that the individual is untrustworthy.

I have had repeated silent calls from this number, as if it is being automatically called and then when answered it cuts off. My number is registered with the Telephone Preference Service so I shouldn't get unsolicited calls at all.
