The number is a UK (+44) landline/mobile prefix likely used by ordinary telephony; no definitive owner is confirmed from the provided results. Online reports mention reverse lookups and scam databases suggesting potential spam risk, but no single, authoritative source pinpoints a specific entity. 1. Who it appears to belong to: Not conclusively identifiable; appears to be a UK telephony number (not clearly branded to a specific company in the sources). 2. What people say online: Various UK reverse lookup and spam report sites show mixed data—some user reports flag it as unknown or potentially risky, others provide generic lookup results. 3. Association with spam/scams: Some databases/listings indicate risk signals, but there is no definitive consensus proving it as a scam or fraud for this exact number. 4. Public exposure/leakage: The number appears in public facing lookup and spam report databases, suggesting it is exposed in public directories or reporting sites. 5. Advisability to answer/call back: Given mixed signals and potential risk patterns in related databases, answering or returning calls should be avoided unless the caller身份 is verified through independent channels.

21The caller said British Gas IT team systems made an error and our neighbour company's electric useage is added to our meter.
Usual thing - glitch in the meter reading wanted to confirm Supply number - which he already had - so can't see the point - but rang back about 10 times completely distrupting office and telephones!!
Claimed to be from EDF chasing a bill increase, but when we asked him to confirm our account details he couldn't. SCAM CALLER
El número 020-80400499 ha sido asignado a Gas and Energy (spoofing)
Caller said he was from SSE and that their meter reader had made a mistake with our postcode. Wanted me to read out details from our bill so that he could ensure we did not have to pay anything for the current month. Obviously, I put the phone down. He didn't call back. Scam? I think so.
Caller claimed he was from SSE. He said we had a faulty gas meter and they were unable to generate bills. Checked independently with SSE who confirmed its a scam. DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS.
Calling pretending to be Eon Next asking about our energy meter. He read out a meter number code which wasn't ours. His strategy is to get you to say "that's not ours, it's actually X number". Do not give him your energy meter code or any other info (names etc). For us it was the same Indi*a*n man every time and he is very persistent. He rage called back instantly after I put the phone down on him LOL
Pretending to be from an energy company in order to obtain the meter supply number. Some mix up with a postcode or something. Obviously some sort of scam.
Called with claim the meter was read but the wrong postcode was used - could he have all the details from our bill so they could correct it !
Cold called, said they were from EON Energy, asked them to confirm they are actually calling from EON Energy and they said yes. They said they were calling regarding a meter rading, they had no information about our business. When I said no thank you, bye, they let out a defeated sigh and put the phone down. Too many of these at the moment.
Caller claimed we were with British Gas, but we are not
Called claiming that there had been a mix up with meter readings but despite being asked several times would not confirm who the supplier was or the supply address. Hung up but kept calling back. Have now been blocked.
I really dont understand the point of these calls. they told me they were from EDF and our postcode on their system was mixed up with another customer thus wanting me to go through all of my invoice information. they new a fair bit of information making it seem legitimate but when asking them questions about how can they not know other bits of info they say its unknown because they are not a specific department. I hung up and they didn't call back.
SCAM! Said they are from OVO Energy and asking for Supplier Number and other details from the bill. I kept giving him wrong/funny details, I said bill generated on 30/02/2024, he then hung up. As an Indian, I am sad that all these scammers are Indians and using Western Names (Johnson, Mark, Luke etc.) Young Indians should really look for genuine and fair opportunities to earn some rather than frauding people and bringing shame to the community. I apologise on their behlaf......
Indian call centre said they we from Positive Energy and meter read was wrong.
26/2 same as others have stated, claims to be British Gas, error with postcode on meter reading, same nonsense I have heard numerous times from a variety of numbers.
Mid morning claiming to be from Engie, we have been billed wrong etc etc could i confirm our meter number SCAMMERS
Called not just once but twice in the same afternoon. Stating to be from British Gas , had our business post code and wanted to speak to accounts even had a meter number - even went as far as sending a spoof email. We hung up for them to phone back stating there has been a mix up with meters at this postcode. Hang up if this number rings you, British Gas they are not.
Claimed to be from British Gas. Had our postcode. Wanted to speak to accounts department. Said there was a mix up as multiple accounts on same postcode. Wanted the meter number on invoice. Asked them to write to us for this information. Hung up.
Tried telling us there was a technical glitch when the meter was read and that we'd been mixed up with another property on the same postcode. Wants to then get me to read the bottom right of the invoice to confirm the meter number. I didn't give any details away and his so called information was completely incorrect. Nuisance call, pain the backside.
The caller claimed to represent British Gas, alleging a mix-up with our meter reading and pressing for contract details. Upon requesting time to verify facts and call back, the caller implied an imminent power outage, coercing cooperation. Suspicions were raised regarding the caller's authenticity, as such tactics contradict British Gas's standard procedures.
