Limited information: Multiple reports indicate potential scam or debt collection activities, often impersonating local councils (e.g., Fife Council, Edinburgh Council) or claiming to be from 'Scott and Co'. Tactics include requesting personal details, leaving voicemails with vague requests to call back, and using non-local numbers. Some users label interactions as 'shady practices' rather than outright scams, citing lack of transparency about the caller's company and purpose.

8Caller lied saying they were calling from fife council. They asked me to confirm my details, I declined explaining I didn't believe it was a fife council call and they requested I call them back on the number they were calling from. Shady practices to get people to talk to them.
Called and left voicemail stating they were Scott and Co and to call back. I did and they said they could not find an account under my number. Although they left my name in voicemail. Not believing its Scott and Co. Maybe scam trying to confirm my number to my name.
Scam Scam Scam, don't answer don't call back, simples !!!
Call from Scott and Co. Appear to have bought parking ticket debt from Edinburgh Council. Didn't make clear they are a debt collection firm and have asked that they write with details. Not necessarily a scam, just some shady practices.
caller id reportó Scott and Co con el número 033-33206871 como Empresa de cobranza
male with a first name only asked for address and said to call on BEHALF of the (Edinburgh) Council. He was not aware that I moved and wanted to continue CONFIRMING personal data. Because the caller didn't want to say company and reason, I asked them to write me a letter.
Claimed to be calling from Edinburgh Council (clearly a lie). Asked for me by name, then asked me to confirm the address, which I declined to do, as the phone number wasn't a local one. Her response was, 'we have to disguise it so people will answer...' Not convinced it was the Council. 03333206871
Texts for 'Carol' and automated phone messages left on answer phones. To call them back is not free. Scammers hoping that 1 in 100 will listen to them.
