Call came after a text from tsb about new standing order. Very convincing that it was the bank, knew lots of info. They called from tsb bank number on back of card. Scammed of all savings. Bank will never call you and fraud not 24/7.

Although this number is apparently a genuine TSB number it is being used by scammers. Do not give out any personal details but contact TSB Fraud Team if you are called on this number.

Caught me with a fake hermes (courier) txt message and I entered my details in an online form and this number phoned today claiming to be the bank fraud prevention. Fortunately I had already notified the bank of my mistake and had my card cancelled and I was also given a warning this call would happen. Definitely a scam but sounds really convincing.

At nearly midnight last night the house phone rang. It was an automated voice and said something like. “This is the TSB. You have just set up a new payment from your account. If you did not set up this payment press #”. Fortunately I realised it was a fake call and I replaced the handset without pressing #.

They called my sick mother in law who is having cancer treatment and very drousy and vulnerable. It appears they got enough information and took over her pc. He transfered £10,000 between 2 TSB accounts and tried to pay £4,900 in to a LLOYDS account, which she did. The caller then went after more money and got her to call a genuine TSB fraud number and got her to put the phone on speaker so he old listen on the mobile. They got her to call tsb genuine fraud number to authorise further payment as she said yes on his instruction. TSB asked if she made another transfer and he shouted put the phone down and she did. She got her money back as we called during this and realised. Be aware

100% scam. Wound them up for ten minutes then told them where to go. I can absolutely see how some folk could be fooled though. Very convincing and aggressive.

They didn't call but sent a VERY convincing letter in the post with a VERY convincing debt card thanking me for joining TSB... Which I hadn't. The letter gave this number, an email address and said to pop in store if there's any questions. Very cleaver scam.

Beem with TSB for 15 years, this the first time ive spoke to someone that sou ds indian, if you know TSB you know youll always get back to someone whos like from the middlands or up north, then for the 1st time in said time the idiot asked me to verify my identity, its on the TSB website for godsake TSB will not cqll ylu out the blue and wont ask you to confirm identity, and please dont be fooled by the automated TSB voice when you call the number back its nust a recording of the real computerised service

A young sounding man called me yesterday claiming he's from the TSB Bank. Told him immediately that I didn't believe him and I hung up. He did sound convincing enough, it's just that I find it better just to not trust just about anyone on the phone or emails. A sad fact unfortunately !

Not fake TSB but fake LLoyds. Told my friend there had been fraudulent activity on his account. He was in the phone to them for 20 minutes, told them lots of details about his account and they were pushing for account number and sort code. They told him if he hung up they wouldn’t be able to stop the fraudulent transaction and his account would be emptied. Huge red flag!!! I managed to stop him when he reached for his card as I realised what was happening, but it’s scary because they sounded so legitimate and professional. This number needs to be tracked by authorities, they must be stealing thousands from unsuspecting people.

Claimed to be from Barclays fraud team, said my account has been compromised and needed to change card details. asked me to respond by saying yes to transfer of 4850.00. texts were genuine from Barclays. Scams knew passwords. I did not agree to say yes.

I don’t think I have ever felt as silly as I do today. But no matter my embarrassment, I feel it is important to pass on my experience which is all to easy when you are tired and not at your best. Throughout the long post I have put WARNINGS as to where I should have retrospectively realised that something was wrong. I hope someone learns from my embarrassing mistake which (if TSB had not refunded me) would have been financial devastating. The events 2 nights ago I received an email from Netflix saying that my payment details needed updating (WARNING)… I checked my bank account online and noted that indeed the payment to Netflix was in pending… I checked the email address.. it all seemed legitimate, so I went and filled out my details… The form asked for my mother’s maiden name, mobile email, bank account details… I didn’t think anything of it.. so often do we have the question.. “what’s your mother’s maiden name?” (WARNING) – maybe I did set this up as a security question? I was unsure. After this I didn’t think anything of it; the vague flash went through my mind of whether it was fraud but everything seemed legit… Last night I had a call from “TSB – the bank” saying that a direct debit had been set up on my account to BMW. I thought “wow thats clever of the fraudsters. How did they know I had had a BMW loan??”… The gentleman (or not so) on the phone said that my account had been compromised and we needed to set up a new account… I gave him the 4last digits of my other accounts with other banks as he said that he would contact them to tell them about the fraud. While we were talking, I put the phone number into google. It came up that this was the TSB number but it also came up that there were frauds against the number (WARNING). He then said after some time that my Lloyds account had also been compromised. I then transferred a large chuck on my savings to TSB to then go into this new account which was supposedly safe from the “hackers”… Apparently TSB was safer than Nationwide as it is a building society (WARNING). Yes, retrospectively this looked dodgy as hell but at the time it really didn’t. I questioned him about how I knew this was TSB and he said that the number matched the number in the back of my card and that he hadn’t had to ask any details. This subdued my inquisitorial side for a while… I moved the money over to TSB and we set up a payment to my “new” bank account.. Upon putting the sort codes in I noted that it came up with Modular (I have never heard of this bank) – I assumed this was a central system of some sort (yes silly) The payment decline (WARNING) and therefore we tried another account and the payment went through. These payments were made to bank accounts in my name… This was clever.. He said that all my new bank details would be in the post and I would receive new internet banking details to just to be on the safe side. This call was not rushed and it was very professional. Little did I know that something was wrong until I received a text from my bank and thought I would call them just to check. The lessons I learnt and would like to pass on to prevent this happening to someone else Over 3 times I questioned myself about whether this was right and nearly decided to call them back using the TSB number. I only didn’t because I was in a rush. I had work to do. Never again will I just be lazy or trusting or think I am being too paranoid! Have conviction in your gut feelings! If a payment ever declines – do not do it again – RING YOUR BANK Even if the number looks legitimate… these things (I have learnt) are easily manipulated Always taken the name, location and details of anyone from the bank who calls you. Never give away all your personal details.. if you are unsure always call off and login into your accounts too see if the personal details are relevant. NEVER DO ANYTHING THROUGH AN EMAIL. (not that I did this) but never take down a number from the phonecall instead research the number from their main website (not a website they provide you) It was very clever they did this at the time my Netflix payment would normally be coming out. The story and timeline all worked. Since this morning I have been able to identify that I have received another similar email but this time from “tv licencing”. These all look very legitimate. It shocks me that I would have been so much more careful at work but I did not find it unusual that the bank called me about fraud as this had happened before. Well LESSON LEARNT..

They are Hackers also Nearly stole from My bank account £689. 1st Attempt - They tried to spent in Argos £189 and sent text if I was ME I text back to number NO then Later This Number called me and Said a Hackers is attempting to stole another £500 and asked for two - One time passcodes to stop payment to some Revolut bank, after I dumb gave those codes I got Message if it was me who`s sending £500 to revolut -The guy on phone insist to quick answer YES to cancel Payment.... Obviosly This alerted me BIG time and I answered NO.... Hanged up and Called real bank and frozed all MY accounts...... at some point they Knew My full information about me, and tried to steal Money.

Pretended they were TSB, and that someone tried to take out 250 to pay Apple, they put the transaction on hold and now need to generate me a new card, new sort code and new account number. Called him out on it by saying will visit branch to sort out as never heard of anyone changing a sort code before...I am guessing he would have asked me to verify all those details in order to change them. Scam, scam, scam as soon as I said that he hung up.

Called my elderly mother, said from fraud team, saying someone had withdrawn a reasonable sum form her bank account and they needed her to give them her PIN number.......sounds like they were perhaps slightly aggressive when she said she wouldn't give her PIN to anyone and they shouldn't be asking for it. Asked her if she used online banking to which she replied that's none of your business, they kept saying from fraud team - she hung up and reported to her bank, the police and her phone provider.
