I phoned Virgin Media to check whether this phone number belong to them and they said no it is a scam. Virgin Media would never ask you for the first line of your address only digits in your security pass Plus they will never try to sell you products unless it's at the end of your contract.

This is Virgin media and is not a scam. However they are outbound sales calling and are a real pain as they won't take no for an answer, trying to sell you stuff you don't want, saying its free but it actually isn't. Suggest use of red button and block facility on this number.

Virgin Media officially vehemently deny that this and similar numbers with minor differences or otherwise have anything to do with the company. But the coincidences are far too great and that includes anything either directly or indirectly connected with or could be construed by, with or from Virgin Media

I had this today on my mobile. Caller immediately hung up. Regarding comment made upthread, I had a genuine call which I was expecting from VM some while back, and they asked me for password and account number etc and I refused. He said why, so I said I don't know who you are. Prove you are VM. He couldn't, so I said you tell me my password and said that was not allowed, so I said why should anyone tell callers claiming to be VM ANYTHING without proper security and he couldn't answer. I knew it was genuine anyway, so I told him to give first, fifth and ninth characters of my password, and he did. Business was transacted, and I told him to report the conversation to HQ. I head no more

Male caller claimed to be from Virgin. He knew my name and asked if he was speaking to the account holder? I refused to give out any information and he hung up

Lady said she is from Virgin Media and can she speak to the account holder. I replied that is my husband, I asked what is it to do with has Virgin Media wouldn’t ring on my mobile they would ring on house phone. She said it concerned discounts on our account. I said my husband isn’t available at the moment. She then replied she will ring back later

Claims to call from Virgin Media but wants "your username and password to verify they are talking with the account holder". Watch out - this number is a Virgin Media number but the caller ID is probably spoofed. I have got calls consistently the past to weeks. Scam.

Virgin Scam/harassment call I am an existing Virgin customer for Internet, TV and land line. Have had 2 calls on my land line each day from this number for the last 3 days. Their methods vary .. If you answer, sometimes they hang up straight away without speaking. If you don't pickup and let the call go to answering machine, they stay on the line for 5 seconds then hang up without speaking. They spoke to me on 2 occasions, gave me a 5 minute robotic script in broken English on how much money they could save me on my existing bill. At the end of the "look at how much money we can save you" speech, I ask how much cheaper my monthly bill will be, they tell me it will increase as I will be getting more TV channels. Unbelievable .. I was thinking of removing the land line from my existing package as I never use it - this has confirmed that I need to remove Virgin Media and change provider instead

Unsure as to whether this is genuine or not, I got fed up with receiving these calls claiming to be from Virgin and so I raised a complaint, as I am opted out of Telesales and I wanted them to confirm it was them. Eventually I had a call from a Virgin Media customer services agent who told me that this number IS a SCAM and I should ignore these calls.

Said they were Virgin Media, started asked me for information, told them I wasn't interested in anything and don't give information to cold callers, might be genuine, might not be, we still get cold calls from Sky, to insure the box we haven't had for 10 years and never insured anyway, very suspicious of these people, I just put the phone down, shame these companies have allowed such calls, it probably costs them business and ruins their reputation, I no longer care if they are genuine or fake, they all get the same response, if I want anything, I'll call them.
