Definitely HSBC fraud department. It's a separate call centre to the central one as I was taken aback at the different "customer handling" of the fraud dept i.e. not as warm as the central team. It's a genuine number, just avoids the queues of the central number you'd normally call.

Genuine number. Got a voice message saying from HSBC Fraud Detection Team. Checked it out on-line. Number is good. If HSBC ask you to call this number you should deal with it right away. They are protecting your money. Call in at a local branch if it makes you feel more secure.

I was left an answerphone message from HSBC sounding genuine but not getting my surname exactly right. I had great trouble contacting HSBC and worried it was a scam. Later checked through their customer services who said it was genuine. I'm not at all happy about the cavalier attitude of the bank and how difficult it was to get through to them.
