I had received text messages "it's important you call us now on 01782401123" and I phoned back a missed call of the same number this afternoon. A woman advisor on the phone claimed that Advantis was working on behalf of HMRC to collect a fine of £200 for late NI payment. She advised me that I should pay today because today was the deadline. I refused and told her I needed to check with HMRC. I owe HMRC nothing. This number is phishing. Be careful.

Keep receiving automated messages to either press 1 to speak to an operator who then refuses to give details of what they want without me confirming personal information or a message directing me to call Advantis on an 01782 number. Never heard of this company before and I refuse to provide my details if they won't even tell me what their company does, most likely phishing scam.

I haven't received any calls from advantis but have received an unsolicited email. I don't owe any company/entity money so just googled their name. Like MrsTea I have recently bought a car. I can only assume my email address has been given out to these mongs. Scam merchants methinks. They won't even specify what they emailing about, will only say "a personal business matter."

Just had a call from them, claiming they can't give me any information unless I confirm my details (which I did not). Reading online it's probably got to do with recently selling my car. They seem specialised in DVLA scams, i.e. claiming you owe the DVLA money for failing to report your car as SORN or sold. I have confirmation by the DVLA about the receipt of my car being sold. I told them put it in writing, but so far have not received anything. Reported them to the TPS, too.

Just been called by this company, who wanted to go through security questions with me, despite not being prepared to tell me who they were calling on behalf of! As if I'm going to share my personal details on that basis! I feel sorry for their operative, what a horrible job.

had to calls claiming to be from Appliance city calling about delivery times for "tomorrow's delivery time" First call "Hi this is carol calling about your Dishwasher" etc and then half an hour later "Hi this is carol calling about your fridge freezer" Jees they cant even make their mud up WHAT exactly they are "delivering" Dont answer BLOCK calls

It is a bone vide-as much as it is possible for a DCA to be bone vide-company but they asked for a person whom hasn't lived at this address over 10 years, a statute barred debt then is one that is pursued illegally so had great pleasure in letting them know, keep them talking for as long as possible because whilst you taking the P they are not harassing any one else

Called didn't have a robot caller was a human calling saying they are calling for the owner of the property. I stated that I was the owner tried to tell me I was in mortgage arrears which is highly unlikely seeing as I own my house fully! I explained I own my house with no monthly payments and they refused to say who they was calling for told them this is harassment and seeing as I do not owe any debt anywhere else I was discontinuing the call and reporting them to TPS and ICO! Very strange if you ask me! Spoke to the bank on who I bought the house from as it was a repossession just to cover myself they are sending out a written request stating I do not owe anything on my house as it was paid in full and that they have not transferred me to any debt company. Just in case these strange callers try and pull a fast one! Do not answer just block them!!!!

01782401123 - Advantis Debt Collection Agency - is the number that keeps showing up when I return home or do 1471 after only a few rings. Received one VERY unprofessionally written letter (obviously a copy & paste *insert name here* job), if you've ever been contacted by TNC you will know what I mean by this. It requested a bank statement as proof, which I provided, only to hear nothing for weeks to get a *threatening letter* (they do know its paper, right?) saying they still had no received it. Funny, as I have the signed for by Royal Mail receipt in my filing cabinet (just to make sure) and now they're dragging their heels. Fully intend on paying the debt as its a student fee, but demanding a 4 figure amount, on job seekers, helping look after retired parents on JSA (and believe me, I am looking). Strange, if its a debt collection company that they wouldn't stay on the phone long enough for me to answer? and no way am I phoning back a possible scam number for them to hassle my retired parents when I'm out.

Think they may be trying to gain information. From anyone willing to answer the security questions. So then they have more details to sound proffesional with. I got the recorded message one saying to press 1. So put the phone down as so many con phone scams that get money if you press certain numbers. I have no debt so its some kind of cold calling

They called me with a recorded message asking me to phone 0844 824 130 urgently. I keyed 1471 to check which number the call came from. I rang 01782 401123 to find out who they were and why they called me. They told me that they were Advantis. They said they had phoned me in error. I asked to be removed from their database. I will be reporting them to TPS and ICO (Information Commissioner's Office)

I have been having calls off this number for over a week at all times of the day when I am at work, they leave no message, today they called when my wife was off work and My wife asked who they wanted they said they wouldn't say unless she answered some security questions, she refused as she didn't know who she was talking too. They said it was to do with a business personnel matter. My wife hung up. We have no debt

Received unsolicited call from Avantis( I have never heard of them)it is a recorded message saying press one to speak to an advisor and you will not be charged for this service. I just hung up. Redialed number and the woman who answered merely said they dealt with personal problems. She would not enlarge without me giving personal details which I refused to give. She would not discuss further and I hung up.

Just had a call, they are working on behalf of an ebay debt I ran up. YES very aggressive and demanding. I have previously settled my account with ebay at least a month ago in fact but because they "owned" the debt they are demanding a fee! Nope ;0) sorry. Ebay accepted my payment and my account balance is in credit with NO mention of this company owning anything......

This number called me today. I never answer unknown numbers as it is rife these days. On checking here I have found it is Advantis. I have no debt and am an elderly widow living alone. These calls are disgusting and something should be done about stopping them. Caller blocking is useless!

Advantis Credit called my landline looking for the person who rented the house previously. I explained this to them and they apologised and agreed to remove my number - I haven't had any calls from them since. Checking their website, they're registered with the Financial Conduct Authority and the CSA. So I'd assume they must have some integrity/reason to contact your number?

This fake debt company called "advantis" is a scam. Using various methods to try and obtain information for credit fraud and identify theft of anyone it calls at random. Tell the person calling to get lost and pass your complaint on to the police.

At 2:30 today they telephoned my house and Panicked my mom who is 75 years old by saying the lady on the phone from advantage needed to speak to me urgent and she was calling from the Hospital. I rang the number straight back 01782 401123 and found out it was this debt collector I explained what had happened and asked to speak to a manager so I could make a complaint and was told there is no way you can speak to a manager unless you leave your number and they will call you back within 7 days. I expressed that I felt this is unacceptable and was told tough that's the way it is.

Received a call and upon answering received an automated message telling me it was an important call and to dial 1. Upon doing so and enquiring what it was about I was told it was a personal business matter. Upon further enquiry I was advised that I must answer some security (i.e. personal questions) first. I declined advising the operator that I would report the call. From this site I understand that it is a debt collection agency and I do have a dispute with a well known company who have been harassing me although they refuse to take the matter to court, which I would welcome.
