Answered and pressed 1 after them ringing a few times. Lady asked to speak to me using my maiden name. Been married over a year. Advantis calling to collect a dept on behalf of virgin media. Left virgin in November with no dept. (Also updated my name change with them when I got married) However I'm getting dept letters for £20 from them in my maiden name. Advantis said they sent me a letter but I didn't get one just the virgin bill. Explained to the person I have no dept and that i talked to virgin about it in January. They advised I call virgin back to clarify then call them back to update. Possibly scam call. Better not to answer.

Third party interloper Advantis are a debt collection company for Thames Water. There is no signed contract with either but don’t ignore them answer their call and tell them they are. Third party interloper and you have no contract and if they continue to harrass. you you will send them your fee schedule and then you can charge them for your time. They cannot ever win in court as there is no contract.

Called to state they have sent letters - no letters received - this is a SCAM. I disagree with IAN-SAN who says "Do not ignore"- please DO ignore - don't let them waste your time - it all looks official but it is not - BLACKLIST THE NUMBER - and get back to enjoying what life has to offer !

Debt recovery agency. Do not ignore but a) check your Experian Credit Report for linked addresses and b) do not provide any more information than they already have (probably name and address). They will have reached you as somebody has a debt and is linked, maybe incorrectly or by fraud, to your name and address. Identity theft is not illegal in the UK and nor is apparently harassment. Doing nothing will potentially result in a bailiff contacting you and more trouble. If you are not the person they require for the debt then they cannot pursue a debt recovery against you. But you must make it clear as you will be treated as guilty until proven innocent.

Received a call this morning asking me to press 1 to proceed. Well that's not happening. It masquerades as a debt collection company, but I have no loans, no historical debt and a credit card balance of £0.

Asked to speak to a Miss S, as this is a global company I need a first name at least to narrow the search down, refused and spouted waffle about data protection which I also quoted him back, caller asked to go through to the first Miss S in my directory which I declined to do, explained a second time that I need the initial or first now, again with the data protection waffle, politely told him to either call back and ask for the full name or contact them by email, he launched into his waffle for a third time, I told him goodbye and hung up, reading this page tells me to add him to my time wasters list.

Called my work number - told me they normally send letters first (they havent) nor have i had a message. They said they're hired by companies as they can find contact information etc. Wanted me to confirm my name, address and DOB - told them absolutely not and to remove my work number. Absolute joke!!

Left me a message a few weeks ago, left me a voicemail today saying they needed to resolve a personal business matter and that I needed to press 1 to speak to one of their advisors. I did some research and found that they are a debt collection company, however I am 19 and have never taken any financial aid so cannot possibly owe anything.

Block the number use an app call the police about them notify what their doing is cold calling which is in the law is a big no. Companies Cold call people, just to get a fish in the net. Dont you ever give information about who you are, name, address so on unless you personally contacted them yourself. Cold Calling is a crime and lots of companies do this everyday. Just dont take any notice of them unless you know whats its about.

Left me a message today saying they need to speak with me about a personal business matter, thought it was a bit odd & then realised the same number sent me a message a few weeks asking if I’d received a letter from Adventis & to call them to resolve the matter or make a payment..

They rang my mobi i missed the call & rang them back. They asked for account number i didnt have anything with them so said I havent got one, tehy said they would put me through to someone who could help, when i didnt give them any info & asked who they were & what they done, they said many different things about personal or buisness debt/loan/etc & if I gave them some of my details they would look it up for me.... I didnt. I have blocked this number but they still are able to leave messages for me to call them but my phone poped up with "Poss Scam" so I am pleased i didnt give them anything :) My advise is dont give them a thing, dont even talk to them ! Block & delete messages ! Good luck with getting rid :)
