5My card was blocked last night with 2 fraudulent transactions pending on my account. Got text early in the morning to call this number, there fas a Ref: Case ID number in the text as well. Phoned them, got asked about my security questions, after that they could see all my transaction accounts etc, the lad from EBS advised me that there were multiple attempted transactions which were blocked but 2 went through and will be reverted. He cancelled my card and ordered a new one. I googled this number after the phone call and after reading all the bad reviews I phoned the bank directly over the number on their website. Explained them everything and they confirmed that everything that the man from 016658365 told me was correct and that he did cancel my card and ordered a new one. So am happy to confirm that this is not a scam, but genuine EBS Frauds number.
Just to let people know that this scam is active as of today, October 24th, 2025. Same bank named, same number, same message as outlined by others. I got this page by Googling the keywords and the telephone number the scammer provided and naturally didn't bother to ring them back.
Got text from 01 6658365 EBS Card Services stating my card was blocked and to ring urgently. It also gave me a Case ID to quote. I rang and was on hold for 10 mins approx. When answered a foreign man stated my full name and proceeded to ask me my security question. I said firstly that I wanted the reason my card was blocked, he said he couldn't give out that information as they were an outside security firm working for EBS Fraud and Security Department. He requested my answer to my security question again and I told him that I believed the number to be SCAM as I had googled it while waiting and found the previous comment on this site. He said I would need to call into my EBS Branch to get it sorted and my card would remain blocked until it was sorted. I said I would do that. I immediately rang my local branch who confirmed that this number IS NOT AN EBS PHONE NUMBER. And he was passing this information onto their actual team. He also confirmed my account and card were not blocked. BEWARE THIS NO. 01 6658365. DO NOT RING THEM BACK.
Got an sms from EBS so I called them. Suspicious. Said there is a block on my EBS card because it had been used in a foreign country. I asked which country and he said "Ah I cannot tell you but it was not in the EU". Asked me for mother's maiden name. I said I don't need to give you that info. He said ok, but there is a block on your card and we cannot give you any information. (My card is sitting on the table in front of me during the call). He said to contact EBS and I said "I just called you!" He said oh we are card security company. I asked the name of his company and he said (unintelligble) "Tietro Evri" (which I had to get him to spell out). He spelled it again incorrectly. Didn't give him any more info so he said lines are open 24 hours so please call back and deal with the problem or there will still be a block on your card. I said "OK BYE!"
