This number contacted me in February after I posted an ad for my car on Donedeal. He sent "hello there" and "good morning to you," and since this number also belongs to my company, I replied, "Good morning, how can I help you?" He then responded, "I think you haven't saved my number." I asked who he was, thinking he might be a client, and he replied, "Hello." I found it strange and didn't reply anymore. However, I changed my SIM card weeks later for personal reasons, and in November my boyfriend saw this conversation and didn't understand it. I didn't know how to explain it because, judging by the nature of the conversation, that man knew me. Then I searched the number on Google and all these reports appeared. This is sad and sickening at the same time. The Garda needs to do something and find this man.

Text me this morning saying ‘heeey there’ and wink emojis! I looked up the number and saw all these reports. Like others have said, something more should be done, seen as he’s been doing this since 2015. Someone could end up getting hurt or worse. I also placed an ad on DoneDeal two days ago.

I got a text from this number yesterday. He was messaging saying we met in Malahide in late January. I knew this was incorrect as 1. I have a boyfriend and did not hand out my number to anyone, 2. I was not in Malahide in late January, I wasn't even in Ireland. I stupidly continued the conversation as I actually believed he thought he was messaging a girl he met on a night out, and I didn't want to be rude. I wanted to double-check this was not someone I befriended and forgotten about, and once that was clear I wanted him to know he had the wrong number. I didn't want him to think he was being 'ghosted'. The next morning I received a text saying "morning.." and that irritated me - why was he messaging me when it was clearly the wrong number!? So I googled the phone number and found this link. I have now blocked his number.

I placed an add on Done Deal last week. Received very strange text messages from this person claiming they met me in Kilkenny. Saying very unusual stuff. Very strange!! I’m just after reading he’s been doing this for years? What’s going on, what’s his reason??

I had one message in July saying 'hello you' which I ignored and then another today followed with 'I should have got in touch earlier' Have not used donedeal but my number is linked to a my business. glad I found this page as seemed so werid. Seems like such an odd thing for a person to do over a few years!

I've received 3 messages in space of 5 hours. He clearly reviews postings on sites that identify the number owner as female and starts from there.

Appears this guy is still at it, I had an ad on Daft and received very similar texts as those below. It started with Hello there , I replied with ?? then received Howa re ya missus... I googled the number, found this page and blocked it. weirdo seems to have too much time on his hands.

Got a text a 8am this morning saying 'Hello There', asked him who he was, started calling me cheeky minx etc. Asked him his name and he said the good looking one I was chatting to in Kilkenny at the weekend and I asked then, if he could tell me my name and he said he stored me in his phone as 'sassy blonde'. (seems legit seen as a quarter of the female population is blonde). He eventually revealed that his name was 'James'. I told him I was married with kids, didn't seem to bother him. I am not from Kilkenny and I don't go out there. He kept being persistent and pushy. I then googled his number and swiftly blocked him!!! MASSIVE CREEP

This guy msged me today. Same as other msgs. Started convo as if he knew me. Said we met race week in Galway. I asked him what my name is: said he had me in as Sassy Blonde. I wasnt even in the country, never mind Galway for race week. Kept asking my name anyway. Awful creepy how he knew where I was from and colour hair. I stopped replying but he kept texting, again wanting to know who I am. Ammm.... no you weirdo! I thought that it was one of my friends taking the piss but this is just creepy..

Got a text saying “Hello there” like everyone else reported. Googled it not expecting to find anything and figuring it was automated but found this page. I’m male, don’t use Donedeal nor any her social media platforms so I am unsure how he happened along my number, but regardless, considering the comments I was reading here, I decided to reply a few times suggestively just to see what would happen since the odd spacing and punctuation didn’t leave me convinced that it was an actual person. At first I was unconvinced but I soon realised that yes, I was talking to an actual person(who believed I was female) and his gross interest in one of my replies was enough to repulse me away from finding it funny anymore, so whatever his end-goal is with all of this is uncertain.
