A concise, standalone report based on available publicly reported information. The number appears to be a New Zealand style landline or mobile prefix starting with +64 4, suggesting origin in the Wellington region, but multiple sources indicate potential issues with spoofing and misrepresentation in NZ caller data. Online reports are mixed and include warnings about scam activity tied to NZ numbers, with some listings labeling similar numbers as suspicious or likely spoofed. 1. Belonging/type: The prefix +64 4 indicates a New Zealand number (likely landline in the Wellington region), though online discussions suggest the possibility of offshore sourced numbers being routed through NZ numbers for scams; exact ownership is not verifiable from public sources. 2. What people say online: Several user driven databases and forums flag New Zealand numbers for potential scam or telemarketing activity, with some entries noting repeated calls, missed calls, or automated messages; accuracy varies by report platform. 3. Association with scams: There are indications across multiple aggregator sites that similar NZ numbers are involved in scam activities or are used in spoofing, though other listings categorize the number as unknown or possibly legitimate; no definitive, universally corroborated fraud claim for this exact number is found in the sources consulted. 4. Public exposure/leaks: The number appears in public caller review and scam report databases, which implies it is publicly visible to users, but there is no clear evidence that it is part of a leaked dataset or paste site; its exposure seems typical of numbers discussed on consumer protection and telecommunication forums. 5. Advisability of answering: Given mixed signals and multiple reports of suspicious activity around similar NZ numbers, answering or returning calls is not advisable; verify through official company contact channels if the caller’s claimed identity is known, and consider blocking or screening unknown numbers.

I answered but no one replied or responded so eventually hung up. Guessing it’s spam.

Said I'd recently entered a online competition for an iPhone. And I'd get an automatic free entry into the next draw if I answered a few questions. They didn't ask for any personal information or money. They asked if I worked, then asked if I had any issues with my hearing was, then offered a deal from Bay audiology for hearing check, asked if I had Sky tv or previously had it, then offered a one off promotional Sky TV deal, asked if I had home internet and if it was with OneNZ,(I said no) then asked if someone from OneNZ could call me to discuss a deal, they didn't ask who my provider was though. I just told them im not interested in any of the offers, they said that's ok, you'll be entered into the next draw for the iPhone and hung up. I don't recall previously entering any online competition to win an iPhone...something didn't feel right about the call and how reheated or scripted the caller sounded. Very "to the point" not chatty at all. Also she gave no details of who she was or who the company or organization was that was running the competition I'd apparently entered...and when I did ask she just repeated that I'd entered a competition.
