This is illegal harvesting of date held off shore . And breach if the privacy of information act. No idea why they called.

I received a automated txt from 8020 with message (pls rg 0800438229 quote ref... or reply txt call regarding an urgent matter. i was very skeptical so decided to call from a landline after being told by a friend that it was probably baycorp. gentleman answered told me i had called baycorp when i asked, he asked to quote the reference number in txt, name and DOB as well as cell number which txt was sent to. gentleman on the other end was nice and apologized that they were looking for someone else, I asked if he could delete the number from that file he responded with "I'm doing that now" and to "have a nice day". 100% sure its baycorp

We kept getting unsolicited automated calls on our home line telling us the matter was important and to hold for an operator. Yeah right. Then got a text to call this 0800 number and quote the reference in the text. Saw this page on the website so was armed and ready! Made the call and they knew my name and asked for confirmation details. I refused until they explained who they were - Baycorp. I said it was inappropriate and I considered it harassment when I continually receive unsolicited communications that do not state who they are. I refused to give out any details other than my address (which is available in the phone book). Lady got very unhappy with me but did disclose that Baycorp were sending us a letter (for goodness knows what). I then ended the call.

I got the same message (call 0800438229 and quote ref number regarding an urgent matter) and did not reply. However ever since I got this message a 'private number' has been calling everyday for the past week. Has this happened to anyone else, or is likely to be unrelated?

Received a Text to call this number with a ref NO

got the text, googled the number and got this page. Checked the reference number against an old baycorp letter (for a parking fine that got waived), and it matched. Called up and it was baycorp. Although we didn't confirm any of our details to agent, and made him detail the information he had. I would suggest if you feel the need to call them, use a cell phone (costs them more), and be a pain in the arse about them telling you about the issue rather than the other way round (takes longer so again costs them more).

This is Baycorp. The txt is sent after phn calls aren't answered. They also call your home line, if thay've managed to get hold of it, at least 7 times in a row over a period of an hour. A friend who delt with them was disgusted that they immediately asked if they had a credit card to pay the debt or if family members or friends would pay the debt for them. I agree that this is out of line, when they should be working on a payment arrangement. But they're doing their job as they see fit. would hate to have to deal with them.

Received text at 8am from 64210025900 saying: Pls rg 0800 438229 or reply txt Call regarding an urgent matter. Yeah right! Firstly it sounds like a nigerian spam email. Second, it's not personalised. Third, it's not specific. Fourth, if it really is an urgent matter who just sends a text! Bugger off!!!

Received this today, I do owe $200 for expired WOF, started paying off $5 per week 2 months ago to BayCorp who flipped out that installment is not enough to repay in 2 months and legal action will be taken by Auckland Transport against me blahblah. Judging from previous comments, it probably IS Baycorp. Hate their tactics, there were super rude on the phone the previous times I talked to them too. No way I wanna talk to these disrespectful rude people again. Dodgy methods too.

Sent from number 64210025900, message says "Pls rg 0800 438229 quote ref 3138345 15669 or reply txt Call regarding an urgent matter". If it was legitimate (and urgent), wouldn't they call me? There is no name or clue as to who has sent the text. I can only assume that it is dodgy and no way would I reply or call the number provided.

Baycorp probably purchased details illegally from MSD staff who were subsequently dismissed - they harass, use deceptive tactics, and refuse to clear your credit when a debt is paid, or where no debt is proven
