“They said that they were the fraud department for Citibank so I called the actual number for Citibank and they had no record of calling me.”

“Just like a few others here, I received a call from this number immediately after making an online wire transfer. I was suspicious and was careful about what information I gave them, and when I got off the phone, I called Wells Fargo at the number on their website (where I had just made the transfer). The person I spoke with did not have 877-499-6920 in their database of company numbers, but before I closed my account, I asked her to check with the fraud department. After a lot of hold time, she finally reached someone who told that yes indeed this is a Wells Fargo number, from the online fraud department”

“This number both texted and called me saying they are from Wells Fargo about a supposed unpaid balance on a Wells Fargo credit card. Not true. I believe this to be a scam and reported it to Wells Fargo. I don’t know who they are. The reason for call was to gain info from or about me”

“Just called claiming to be a WF account takeover representative. I verified directly with WF and they told me that WF will *not* call about fraud/takeover activity but rather email and text. This is phishing/scam.”

“This is a scam. They claimed my mother had suspicious activity on her account and then kept her on the phone for several hours trying to get details about her accounts. They managed to get enough information to do a Western Union wire for $500, which we luckily caught before it went out”

“I've worked for Wells Fargo. All of their numbers, even for employees end in 9-3557 (Wells). This seems very sketch.”
