“Received a phone call from 800-988-8019 yesterday but did not answer as I screen all calls and only answer known numbers. Then today got a text indicating my Wells Fargo card had a payment past due. Did not respond to that either as I don't now nor ever had a Wells Fargo account nor card of any type. Did a search for this number and found several websites with people reporting this to be a scam.”

“Just like a few others here, I received a call from this number immediately after making an online wire transfer. I was suspicious and was careful about what information I gave them, and when I got off the phone, I called Wells Fargo at the number on their website (where I had just made the transfer). The person I spoke with did not have 877-499-6920 in their database of company numbers, but before I closed my account, I asked her to check with the fraud department. After a lot of hold time, she finally reached someone who told that yes indeed this is a Wells Fargo number, from the online fraud department.”

“This number both texted and called me saying they are from Wells Fargo about a supposed unpaid balance on a Wells Fargo credit card. Not true. I believe this to be a scam and reported it to Wells Fargo. I don’t know who they are. The reason for call was to gain info from or about me.”
