NoCall and privacy: what stays on your phone
A spam blocker sees every number that calls you, so it is fair to ask where that information goes. NoCall was designed so that the check happens on your phone: the spam database is downloaded to the device and incoming calls are compared with it there.
What stays on your phone
- Incoming calls: Each call is checked against the local copy of the database. The number calling you is not sent to a server to be checked.
- Contacts: Your contacts are never uploaded.
- Trusted numbers: Your list of trusted numbers, which NoCall never flags or blocks, is stored only on the device.
- Text messages: On iPhone, the SMS filter decides on the device and message content never leaves it. On Android, NoCall does not read your inbox.
What NoCall does need
To use the app you sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook or an email code; the account is used to sync the database and manage your plan. The Free plan shows ads. Optional AI analysis of a message or screenshot, available with Pro, sends that content for analysis only when you ask for it.
The privacy policy lists exactly which data is processed and why.
Reports and comments
Reports you make on the website do not require an account. Comments appear as anonymous or under the name you choose, and they are moderated before they are published.
Who benefits most
If you want protection against telemarketing and phone fraud but do not want every incoming number sent to a third party, on-device checking is the reason to choose NoCall.
