16Heavy Philipino accent, left message about my BANK account being opened at a certain address (which they somehow knew) & he wanted to discuss something. This person is not related to Citibank & they did have personal info on me. REMEMBER: NEVER ANSWER A PHONE CALL IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER. IF IT'S AN IMPORTANT CALL THAT PERSON WILL LEAVE A MESSAGE. ALWAYS GOOGLE THE NUMBER BEFORE CALLING SOMEONE BACK.
They left a voicemail stating they are from Citibank branch services support system in regards to my account , even stated my full name and address of the branch . They left a separate call back # (866)537-0871. I called Citi bank from the # directly on the app and they said they aren’t associated with that number at all and it’s fraudulent !
Caller is women saying i need to provide the info by november 17 2024 to meet some regulation so asking employment , ssn , income and other sensitive info.
They needed me to verify using a different phone number on my account or verify using my checking or savings account, felt shady they hung up and called me on another line
Eid called from citi bank regarding my inquiry regarding a credit dispute stating the customer service rep from the original call did not provide the correct information for me to dispute the charge. Asked for my DOB address and soc sec. When i asked why they needed my soc sec she demanded she needed it to prove it was me because they do not keep the S/S on file. i hung up
This was an actual citibank card fraud person - they read out my recent transactions to ensure they were not fraudulent and never asked me for any personal information aside from verifying the name and phone number for my card.
A person identifying himself as "Ocean" called from Citibank. Heavy "Indian" accent and background noisy. SPAM
Call is in fact fraud, those posting it is legitimate are part of the fraud. I called Citi directly using number on back of card, neither the callback # or the 208-222-2207 number were valid Citi numbers.
It's legit. Call Citibank directly using the number from your card. That's what I did, and they confirmed this was a legit number from their Fraud service concerning some suspicious charges on my account.
This is legitimately Citibank Fraud — don't ignore it. I was suspicious because it was flagged by Android as a potentially suspect number, but I confirmed with Citibank. Remember, if you're unsure, you can always hang up and contact the number on the back of your credit card instead and ask for the fraud department. But don't ignore it — if this number is calling you, it means someone has been trying to use your Citi card without your authorization.
Claimed to be citibank fraud but were just trying to get my new credit card number
Impersonated as Citi Fraud department
Citi Bank (Fraud) fue reportado como Estafa con el número 208-8222207
Saying they are with the fraud department and following up on potential fraud activity on my card. But when I checked, there was nothing showing in my account history.
Seems that they are impersonating Citi Bank Customer service division.
