Very elaborate scam. They impersonate Chase to let you know there is a non recognized Zelle transaction. Then, they "transfer" you to the "fraud" department, which will ask you to introduce the "case number" as a new contact in Zelle... They were aggressive when I was hesitant, so I hung up and went to a branch and they confirm that ANYONE can fake the caller ID, so never trust any phone call, and instead you should call back to the number on the back of the card

Called say I made a credit card application and since it was not me, they gave me a case number and told me to hold for experian to stop all credit - i hung up. Be careful, the first part seems legit, it is the 2nd part that was scam heavy.

This number called me on my cell claiming to be from JP Morgen but asked to speak with my wife. I asked the reason for calling and he stated it is in regards to her credit card number ending in 6330. I hang up and checked all of her credit cards. No, we do not have such a card ending in 6330. Even if he said were true, I would still not talk to him. Rather, I would dial the number listed on the back of the credit card to verify the information.
