7They've called and left messages earlier claiming suspected fraud. I've called Citibank directly and found no fraud. I have not called the 212-449-1000 number, I called the number found on my credit card.
Caller claimed to be from Citi Group fraud department regarding unauthorized use of credit card. Asked for security codes. Said the card would be canceled. Called Citi to verify. Citi had no record of fraud activity nor card being canceled. Stated Citi will never ask for security codes on cards when calling.
Sophisticated fraud call. Apparently, someone opened a credit card on my name and purchased a fire arm, which is a federal crime. They even connected me FBI field office in Portland,OR to report a case. If FBI report is not received within two hours, my accounts will be frozen etc. hey were trying to get my two forms of identification using WA video/Audio call, I dropped the call. Checked with my credit cards to make sure all is good.
Caller claimed someone opened credit card in my name and was calling to verify its fraud no one can open a card in my name since I currently have bad credit due to divorce so I knew it was fraud bc every card I have tried to get approved for I get rejected so no one can actually open a card in my name if they wanted to! SCAM!!!!
Got a call from this number with someone claiming to be from Citibank fraud department. I hung up and called Citibank and they confirmed that there was no fradulent activity on my card. The giveaway was that the fraudster's accent was so thick I coujld barely understand them.
Calls pretending to be government, businesses, or family and friends received in Wakefield, Massachusetts. Calling with recorded message (robocalls)
Claimed to be Citi Bank Card re fraudulent account opened in my name.
