3Caller from this number claimed they were from US Bank & that someone was trying to open a checking account under my name/ phone number. Caller had a accent but spoke english fairly well. They said they were trying to transfer money to a Zelle account & that I needed to be transferred to a Zelle representative to block the transfer. I don't use Zelle or US Bank. At that point I hung up on the caller.
Got a call from this number claiming to be US Bank Branch. Caller had a bit of a foreign accent but otherwise spoke very good English. Caller informed me that he was trying to confirm a Zelle transfer to his bank. I told him I did not authorize any transfer and would hang up and verify through my own bank without giving him any other information. Caller said I could verify the phone number. I did. It does seem to be a legitimate number, but I am sure that this caller was an imposter. My bank confirmed that there was no attempted Zelle transfer.
