It is Scotiabank. I spoke with someone in French. That is how I know it was legit. When you speak in English though, you always get someone who barely speaks the language.

I called scotiabank to double check if this was a real or fake number and they said that they did have a note in my file that I received a sales call from their team from when I got this phone call, so this seems to be a sales call from scotiabank about being pre-approved for a credit card not a scammer.

Claiming to be calling from Scotiabank, asked to speak with my full name I know full well they’re scammers. And not at all affiliated through Scotiabank.( I called SB ) They usually call twice a day within a couple of hours. They never leave a message. Most likely scamming for a “credit card offer”. Avoid answering! call block.

Under this number and Scotiabank caller ID a guy with a heavy Indian/Asian accent called me several times said you are pre-approved for a credit card. Asked for postal code and date of birth. They new my name. Call disconnected on their end. I searched their number and found out they are not related to scotiabank.

They keep calling and they are consistent in stating they are from Scotiabank and they do know who is my family member who has a Scotiabank account. Their accents are always the same, Asian accent (not sure if Indian, Pakistan, Bangladesh,Sri Lankan). Called the same number back and the lady (native english speaker accent) who answered states it is a legitimate number from Scotiabank. Now it gets us ordinary folks confused to who is legitimate or not anymore. If they have offers, why not just send a letter to the customer of the offer so the customer can show it to a branch bank of Scotiabank especially with these scam videos all over the internet that involves Indian call centers.

Says you're preapproved for credit card, barely speaks English. Spoofing Scotiabank's number so it looks legit on caller ID. They knew my full name and wanted to verify personal info, but Scotiabank has no details of them ever trying to call me. I've received eight (8) calls from them in the past month.

I keep getting nonstop calls from this number, every couple of days, of course I never answer and I'm glad I don't because I see what other comments here are saying. They NEVER leave a voicemail. My rule of thumb is, if you don't leave a voicemail then you've probably got nothing important to say to me. I've finally blocked this number, so hopefully no more calls from these clowns. THEY ARE NOT LEGIT SCOTIA BANK. If they were, and they had something important to say to me, then they should LEAVE ME A VOICEMAIL.

I did not think it was a scotiabank employee. They offered me a personal deal and wanted to ask more questions unrelated to banking to tell me more details about the deal… she kept interrupting me when I tried to ask her about what kind of deal it was. I told her I’ve never received any notice of such a deal through my app or email and asked for her extension number so I could call through scotiabank, they never gave me a number and said “ok call scotiabank or your branch bye.” Lol smh

Lady could barely speak English. Wanted my personal information. Caller ID shows Scotiabank but it's obviously not as Scotiabank would not call for that kind of info. I googled the number and it had a negative rating. It's a scam...beware!
