This is "card services" but if you ask them which bank they won't tell you. They're waiting for you to tell them which bank you have an account with so they can claim that's the one. It's fraud.

This appears to be a legit number for Discover Fraud protection. Started getting these calls all of a sudden. Called Discover back to opt out the phone calls as they sent texts and emails also. Discover customer service apparently is not able to turn off their robo calls. Ended up having to block the number. So dumb. I'm beginning to loathe technology.

Discover disavows any connection to this number. Further, the comment about the thieves trying to divorce themselves from ill doing are supported by the the phone industry at large. Shame on you MA Bell!

Checked voicemail and only caught the last 2 words. Looked up the number and saw here it may be Discover. Went online to check my account and found it was compromised so I called and had the account shut down immediately. So it could be phishing for some, but for me it was true.

So, it unfortunately seems like the group themselves are the "people" commenting and saying to trust this crap - or you are paid to say so, and therefore are pure evil. First of all, they are calling for someone who had my number more than a year ago before my phone company gave it to me, and it's automated, and when you actually answer, they hang up before you have an option to connect with a live person. On top of that, they have called 4 times in one day, and left one voicemail that was completely different from what it says when I answered before. Also, the reference number they gave me was 1000... LOL! and that isn't a number that would be used, period. Every single legitimate company would give you at least a 9-10 digit number, and would allow you to communicate with the company (why else would they call!!) compared to listening to the same automated message over and over without trying to connect for more info. Whoever has claimed this number to be false and professional, I completely trust...I mean, why would anyone say that? Use your god given heads, for heavens sake!! If you honestly don't believe hackers/scammers aren't getting smarter everyday and finding ways around things, then you deserve it 100% at this point. I'm not trying to be rude, but it is completely arrogant and shameful to be so. If I was in the FBI, I would ping EVERYONE who says "this is legitimate" in order to crack this wide open, some way or another. I wish I could really speak my mind about this ish, and hate using internet lingo, and most of all, I despise you liars. And in the slim chance you aren't working for them, and honestly believe this to actually be Discover, then LET THIS BE A WAKE UP CALL, and LEARN from this mistake. "Discover", I hate nothing more then worthless men without a real job... you are useless to society and women who have sadly probably dated you...you might as well be fentanyl dealers - morally no better.

Do not believe the comments you may see claiming this is a legitimate DiscoverCard number. Call the number on the back of your card instead. I contacted the real company, and no, they absolutely had not contacted me and assured me they'd had no reason to do so. THIS NUMBER IS PHISHING FOR YOU PERSONAL INFO.

My mother got a call from this number. Said there was fraud activity on her account and they were sending her a new card. I called Discover directly, got transfered to their fraud division and verified the account had fraud activity, had been closed and another card issued. This is a legit number.

This is absolutely Discover Card prevention. I gave zero info other than my name and their system recognized my phone number asking if me before I chose to speak to a human. She gave me info on last 5 purchases asking if I made them. Love Discover Card and this is them! Best credit card company and been a customer for 20 Years!

This was absolutely a Discover card call about a transaction which went sour. I don't know why anyone thought it wasn't Discover, or totally legitimate. Their comments don't even make sense.

This is definitely NOT Discover, which makes it all the more unsettling that they somehow know when Discover actually did flag some activity as suspicious. That's not a confirmation that it's actually Discover, that's confirmation that these criminals really know what they're doing.

received a phone call but was also unsure as alot of people on the net seem to be with this number. I was unsure if there was actually "suspicious" transactions so to speak so I just said fine I will call back which I did on 1-800-347-2683/1 800- Discover and sure enough - there a foreign transaction that was being held up due to suspicous factors which explained the phone call.
