20prison call
My mom went to prison at Debra K Johnson, I'm assuming that's why I'm getting this. She's trying her best to call me but I haven't funded her account yet. She was in jail and had money in CorrectPay but they transferred her. An inmate probably is trying to reach you for whatever reason. They might have the wrong number.
It's getting annoying
This robocall sounds semi-legit, it says "someone in jail tried to call your number but GTL will not connect through until you set up an account" with your credit card... Ok, not entirely impossible, but if GTL wanted to make it sound much more legit, instead of their "give us all your CC info first before we give you ANY info about who called" they should at least say what jail (city, state) or name of inmate, or some other identifying info if they want callers to take it seriously. I did not.
I received 3 calls in July, one in August, and one now. These calls Cannot be legitimate, if they were actually collect calls then the person at the other end would be able to leave a name. Nice try though.
This number keeps calling me and asking for my credit card information because some in Prison was trying to get in contact with me. Don't trust this number.
Barney was calling me because he was at RockMart and he ran out of money to buy Pebbles cereal.

People in this log that say this is a legitimate call are part of the scam. Beware!
Call related to Other received in Ohio. Calling with recorded message (robocalls)
It is not a scam. The caller alerts you to tell you that an inmate from a correctional facility has tried to make a collect call to your phone. If you want to receive the call then you need to set up an account and provide a credit card. If you do not want to receive a call from an inmate then don't set up an account. It is more of a courtesy call than anything else.
I received a phone call from this number today. My neighbor had been arrested. It's a way for them to make collect calls. I actually picked up the phone.
Has called several times in the last two days. The voicemails left are saying that an inmate is trying to reach me and that I cannot be billed for the call, yet it asks me to set up an account and provide funds from a credit card when I call the number back it called from a 513 or 531 area code the first time. Most people will probably fall for this if they know someone who gets in trouble a lot, however, the process to get put on a list to be called by an inmate is not like this and the inmate has to fund the calls. Very suspicious, but nice try!!
After someone attempted to make a collect call to my work phone at 7:25 PM from 714-955-4800, I got a message from this number at 8:53 PM saying someone from a "correctional facility" was trying to call me collect, and I would need to set up billing information in order to get the calls! As if! They even said I could call this number back, or go to www.connectnetwork.com to set up an account. I HOPE NO ONE IS DUMB ENOUGH TO FALL FOR THIS SCAM!!! If someone you love ends up in prison, you would not get a call asking for your billing information! What a joke.
2 missed calls in 2days...caller ID said Tel*link which I know to be related to Global Tel-link. If redialed the # goes to an automated service to set up an account. So I instead called GTL customer service, they were able to tell me which correctional facility had called me and after a game of inmate locator guess who? ....my old friend is housed there and has been trying to reach me. NOT SPAM...just requires a bit of detective work.
I agree, this is a scam.
This automated message calls in the dead of night & leaves a message about an inmate trying to make a collect call to my number. I don't know any inmates, the number is registered in the United Kingdom & I'm not falling for this scam. BE WARNED!
same # keeps calling saying it's from a correctional facility. I looked up on internet - says it's a SCAM to get your personal or financial info. DO NOT PICK UP AND DO NOT CALL BACK.
The accent was so strong that I couldn't understand them so I figured it was a foriegn scam.
Someone tried to contact me via collect call from a prison. I obviously have neither friends nor relatives in prison so whats the matteeeeeer?
