Called me. Caller ID showed the number as 800-513-2360. This is the customer service phone number for 1st Source bank. Caller said they were calling from fraud department at 1st Source. They said they suspected fraud on my card and wanted to confirm my last two transactions. The man had a strong Indian or Pakistani accent and was rather rude. I hung up on him, deciding that it was better that I initiated a call to the 1st Source Fraud department myself, to be sure of to whom I was speaking. It turns out I was right to suspect the incoming call was bogus -- 1st Source confirmed that there was no attempted fraud on my card. The fraudsters called back a few times, on this number and another (local 1st Source phone number). I didn't answer. The fraudsters are getting more clever ... using tools that make them look like they are calling from your bank. NEVER GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO SOMEONE WHO CALLS YOU ON THE PHONE, EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY ARE FROM YOUR BANK AND IT LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE CALLING FROM YOUR BANK'S PHONE NUMBER. ALWAYS HANG UP AND CALL THE BANK YOURSELF.
