Claimed to offer me life/health benefits due to being a FL Notary. Wouldn't give me a name of a company and stated they HAD to talk to me in order to stop calling. Began to ask very sensitive questions. So sketch. Very sus.

Caller identified himself as GT Jones and gave an insurance id of 2504066. (Upon look up, it was another persons #!) Claimed to represent American Amiacable insurance company - I currently have a policy with the company. He said there was a red flag on my account due to no company follow-up during Covid. Offered me a "Paid Up Solutions Plan" that I would pay a little extra and end when I was 69 with a fully paid policy that would jump from the original $10,000 to $30,000. I looked up his ID and it was attached to someone else. Also the phone number he called from was not in service. Two RED FLAGS that I SHOULD have noticed. But, I didn't because he had ALL the information down to the beneficiary and the back up person. I have always thought of myself as too smart to fall for this, but I guess I was wrong! BEWARE! AND NEVER GIVE YOUR INFORATION OVER THE PHONE! Yes, I KNEW that! FYI: I changed my checking account number so he didn't get my money. I've put freezes on my credit reports (Experian, TransUnion, etc) and when the govt reopens I will contact Social Security.
