6texted that I should log in to verify my paystubs for July and August that went out this Monday. It is June and this is not my company contact information.
We are a dental office. They did the exact same thing to us. Yelled, screamed and told us someone was on the way to shut off our power for not paying the bills. Our power bills are on autopay. Called the # just to see and it sounded real at first but then we told them we knew this was a scam, they screamed and yelled again to scare us and then hung up. We double checked our bills and it was fake. Please be aware-this is a complete scam.
they called and said to call a number back for a payment to duke energy stating my electric bill was unpaid, we do not have duke energy. called it back and he knew my address from my business phone number but when i said we do not have duke energy he said ok disregard this call.
2/12/2025 Scam call, but very realistic. Claimed to be from Duke Energy, from here in Florida. When I called back, I was given an automated recording that sounded like that from Duke Energy. When I finally reached a representative, she must have noticed my caller ID came from a law office, and hung up immediately.
2/7/25 Wireless Caller 267-276-4571 (Spoof Call to my 267-xxx-xxxx number). Foreign accent with call center type noises in background. Stated he was from PECO (Phila Electric Company) and that I was sent a letter with an Electric disconnect and that my power would be shut off in two hours for non-payment. I told him that I had just paid my bill (on 2/5) and owed nothing. I asked for his name and he said "PECO" and said I needed to call 844-507-0282 to discuss the shut off. I did a Chrome search of this number and this Green Energy Fraud info came up. I called and talked to a PECO Rep. She said that I was the 2nd call that she had received today about this issue and that it was definitely a SCAM call.
