Received a VM saying it was Mr. Cooper, my mortgage company, identifying me by name and asking me to call 855-251-8759 and enter a personal message code. The call ended by saying "We are a debt collector." I called the main Mr. Cooper number and their system said my account is up to date. The number that the call actually came from was 888-480-2432 which I Googled and found out is a Mr. Cooper phone number. Other research indicated that this is an attempt by Mr. Cooper to try to sell you refinancing and/or other mortgage products by getting you to call them thinking there's a problem, when there actually isn't. I just went through another issue with Mr. Cooper because they grossly overpaid an insurance premium from my escrow account and they couldn't explain how that happened. I have to say that Mr. Cooper is the WORST mortgage servicing company I've ever had and I would never do business with them if I had a choice. I can't believe they'd stoop to such a low level to get you to call them to try to pitch other mortgage products and services. Shame on you Mr. Cooper!!!

I received a message saying they were from Mr. Cooper and said “call us at 855-251-8759 you'll be asked to enter personal message code 514468 again our number is 855-251-8759 and enter personal message code 514468 thank you from Mr. Cooper we are a debt collector…” My account is in good standing and Mr. Cooper said they never called me.

Left a voicemail on my wife's phone, asking for me by name, and stating they are from Mr. Cooper. At the end "we are a debt collector" is thrown in. Mr. Cooper does NOT know my wife's number, and my mortgage portal says everything is fine with my account. FRAUD
