8Received snail mail, Tax Statement for Year 2024. This statement reports 1099-INT to Dept of IRS Interest Income Statement Form for $.57 with phone number - 1-866-213-4074 from Bank of America PrePaid, Historic New Castle, DE. (Bank 02322), TIN-0000. I think it's a scam as I doubt a prepaid card gives interest for federal tax returns nor do I think I have any outstanding Prepaid cards. Ignoring just in case.
Received a letter with this phone number 866 213-4074 or 866 656-5913
Just got this same scam via postal mail. I called the number on the letter and got as far as them asking me to send verification codes (for an account I never setup). I googled the number mid conversation and found this instead of bank of america.
Sent an email followed by a letter pretending to be BOA exactly like others have described.

Asking for my card number and social before helping me, but i don't even have a BOA account.
These are SCAMMERS, NOT Bank of America. Do NOT give them any information! They want to steal people's Social Security numbers for identity theft purposes. I received an email with SUBJECT: Important reminders about transaction dispute claims related to your Bank of America prepaid debit card Sender's email address must have been fake. It showed as: [email protected] This is a scam to steal Social Security numbers. The email only gave what it claimed were the last 4 digits of the prepaid card (which I don't have). I called the general account questions phone number in the email. Voice mail system said to either enter a card number or press 1 to report lost or stolen. I pressed "0" a couple of times on prompts and was connected with a woman. She said she could only help me if I gave her the full card number or my Social Security number to verify my account. I told her that if a prepaid card was sent to me, such as for a rebate or other reward programs, the sender would NOT have my Social Security number, and so there's no way she can look up anything for me with my S.S. number. I asked her repeatedly to give me a website address for a valid Bank of American Prepaid Card site, where I could verify that the phone number I called from the email is a valid Bank of American customer service number. I told her repeatedly that I was concerned this was really Bank of America. She made various excuses, and would not provide me with a web address. I insisted, and then she said she was disconnecting our call, and she hung up. These are SCAMMERS. Do NOT give them any information. The email had a variety of phone numbers. I called the first one. Do NOT call any of these numbers: 866.213.4074 General account questions or to order a statement(s) 855.355.5058 File a claim or dispute a transaction 866.656.5913 TTY line for the hearing impaired 423.262.1650 Outside the United States, call collect
