A text from a different number asks me to call this number. The different number says it is Synchrony Bank. However, the number that received the text would be unknown by Synchrony Bank. So its not likely Synchrony Bank, its likely a spoof/smishing attempt.

Told me I had a "Debt" to pay through PayPal... total scam vibes but they kept contacting me even after I requested to stop their texts. They've now tried calling me and I had to block. Actual bank is no help by the way; there is no way to actually talk to a REAL customer service rep on their website at all... best to just block and move on.

Gives address as being in Utah but your address locator shows the call originates in California! Plus I am not late on any of my payments so I think they're definitely scammers!!!!

No message, just a hang up. However, my mobile phone’s caller ID did display “Synchrony” as the caller from the number 1-866-419-2780. I only have three CC cards, all are currently (and always) on time (two are auto-debit payments). One of them is through Synchrony (Amazon), so I have absolutely no idea why they’d be calling.

This company is ruthless when it comes to collecting. They will call at all ours and agree for you to pay a certain amount, and then keep calling you to pay up even after the agreement.

These annoyances are surely outside the USA. They say their Synchrony, yet I'm not a Sams Club member nor hold a Walmart debit call. I simply blocked them via my voip line They start the call by saying the line is recorded, simply telling them you do not consent to the recording should be your first step.

They persistently call at all hours of the day. Sometimes even at night until 1030 eastern standard time. There was even one day where I was called every other hour. Very harassing phone calls if your late not even a day for a payment. I've had to block their number, then unblock it to call and make a payment on the schedule date we agreed on. So there was no reason to continue to harrass me to make a payment when one was set up. Extremely frustrating to work with.

Calling about a 3 day late payment. Called me perhaps 12-15x over the past 3 days after placing a $38 fee on my account for late payment. Mind you, they gave me a letter in writing that my March payment was waived since they did not waive my January payment during the furlough.

6 calls over 4 days, leaving a message about calling them back. I have no credit card or other relationship with Synchrony Bank. Seems to be a scam. Finally called the number they left and it immediately asked for a credit card number. (Yeah right, buddy.) I just kept hitting buttons until a live person answered, then told them I had no relationship with Synchrony bank and to quit calling me. They said they would "take me off the list" whatever that means.

Left a message saying they were calling from Syncrony Financial in Utah. This must be an effort to promote some financial calling center, since others getting a call from the same number giving another business name. I think Synchrony has some credit cards for gas stations. I don't have any cards from Synchrony, so this is a marketing call for me.

This turned out to be a legitimate call. I missed a payment on a gasoline card and they were calling to tell me about it. I gave them no information except for the number they called me at. (I'm not *that* trusting) They told me which card and the amount due and offered to take payment over the phone. I had my bank send the payment instead.

they called me and I called back and asked me for account. I just gave them my phone and sure enough I missed a $35 credit card payment. They said they did free over the phone payments and I just said I'll do it online. they made a notation and call was done.

Losers. They say are Capital Retail Bank and are trying to collect a debt. I don't have any credit cards through them. The recording asked for my credit card number before even identifying the company calling and didn't say which account. I don't usually answer 800 numbers but 800 numbers called me four time today. Any way I am going to block them for sure.
