Called claiming to be workman’s comp confirming patient information. Super thick accent. Fishing for patient profiles that don’t exist yet. Got very aggressive when I told them to call our corporate line for that information. Don’t give them anything.

Caller claiming to be with Berkley North Pacific Group (calling a provider office in Montana?), very heavy accent and horrible phone connection, demanding patient information for a "mutual client". Caller had patient name/DOB, but would not indicate WHY they needed specific dates of service in 2017 from a provider they apparently didn't even know the name/address/NPI of. Became more aggressive when I advised I can't provide information w/o a release of info (signed by the patient) because "someone else in the office was providing the information but the call dropped"... I provided my fax number, so we'll see if a signed release ever comes in. -__-

Pretty sure it is a phishing call. Ask for not existent worker comp patient, send them to my network for worker comp. At the end confirm my address and name, and then ask for my NPI number. Refuse to give it to them and they hang up.

Claimed to call from a local area hospital I've never heard of where I work. The caller said they wanted to "confirm whether a "mutual client" has an account with our clinic before sending a medical records request", which... doesn't make much sense if you're looking for medical records requests. Asked them if this "mutual client" is on the line, and they said no. They said that they have a signed authorization from our "mutual client" for the requests, so... why even ask us if the client exists in our clinical records? Told them we cannot confirm nor deny whether the "mutual client" goes to our clinic without this imaginary client's official consent and they got borderline aggressive. It happened to be a slow day, so I just gave them the runaround for 10 minutes until they gave up and haven't called back to this day. Whether it's some kind of "medical canvassing group" or a straight-up scam, don't tell them a darn thing.
