Just confirming that this is in fact a Walmart number. I made an order which was cancelled because they could not confirm my payment information, and I spoke with a customer service employee who instructed me to place another order. Then, today, I was called by this number, and I did not answer (because I didn't trust it either). But then I got an email from Walmart, stating that the call was in fact legit. It is a shitty process, nevertheless. But it is not a scame.

This number called my cell, trying to verify a purchase made online through Walmart.com by my husband. The number is correct- it's the financial area of Walmart that deals with fraud. He was taken for around $600 for a purchase he didn't make. I was concerned about the number itself, because he said a number appeared on his bank statement, so now we know the number is correct (whew!) and can call them back to get this fixed!

This number is a SCAM. I verified it with Walmart. A caller named "Sandy" gave this number and a fake verification code to verify an order placed on Walmart.com. Walmart verified that this is NOT their number and that it was a scam!

Definitely a good call. I had debit card fraud for almost $1000 on Walmart.com Item was going to be shipped to my work address and had my billing address correct - I believe info was taken from my Amazon Prime account.

11/26/2017 Walmart called to notify me of possible Fraudulent activity. Sure enough, someone had copied all my info from my Amazon Chase credit card account and created a NEW Walmart account and charged $750 worth of stuff for Store Pickup in my city! WTF... TT Walmart reported the fraud and reversed the pre-auth charges. I also contacted Chase to close the account. I am VERY grateful that Walmart is proactively guarding against criminals trying to commit fraud via their website. Note: 888-516-2614 is their main switchboard line so you will hear options about store hours and all that irrelevant junk. Obviously it IS Walmart.

legitimate call regarding online order verification. Under the guise of protecting YOU, they are really trying to protect themselves from cc fraud. So here's the deal. I ordered online from walmart and didn't give my number. This means they held up my order for two days while they called my cc company to get my number, then called me at the number that is attached to my cc to verify that I made the purchase. So, although the call is legit, the whole process is garbage and I will NEVER order from Walmart online again. (a simple $300 time-sensitive purchase for pick up in store, I'm not even so sure they're going to be able to complete the purchase as i'm betting they didn't hold the product)

I placed an order at Walmart.com last night for over 1000 dollars. This morning this number called and said they were walmart and wanted to verify I made the purchase. I said, the game consoles and games? She said yes and read my order back to me so they are definitely working with walmart because she told me what I ordered.
