17I received suspension notice from UPS and i even called them. They pretended they are from UPS. when i told them i did not send or receive packages, they said they will forward to fraud dept and hung up. This is not legit and it is fraud.
Received the same as others. Letter by mail claiming I owed past due amounts and my UPS account is in danger of a credit suspension. I have no UPS account to my knowledge. I also noticed when I went to the ups.com/billingcenter webpage, in order to pay a bill like this it asks for an "invoice number" which was NOT provided on the letter. Seemed sketchy. I then Googled the phone number on the letter provided to see what came up, and here I found these other scam reports. I will be shredding the letter and forgetting this ever happened.
Recieved fake bill in the mail.
They pretend to be UPS with late payment. It is not UPS.
Received an "account suspension" letter supposedly from UPS. There were 4 charges listed, only one was a shipment I originated. I went to the UPS website and verified that that charge had been paid and there were no open invoices. Looked up the UPS address on the letter - it is a UPS store in Virginia. They tried to scam me for over $400. The 888 693 1044 number is not legit.
Scam phone number. Claims to be UPS billing and is not. We received a letter in the mail claiming that we owed money on our account. Our payable department nearly paid it, luckily they asked me a question about it and I immediately identified it as a scam.
mail claims to be UPS, total scam
Suspicions call claiming to be UPS. The guy told me I have some credits from August and which would apply to recent bill. It all sounds great until he started to ask for my information and the guy has bad accent. I had to hang up. I don't know how legit is this, but I will report it to my account manager.
Received a suspicious letter in the mail supposedly from "UPS" claiming a balance due, or we would face suspension. Immediate red flags: Name of our business was slightly off, the return address was a physical UPS store in Virginia Beach (not a regional HQ), common words like "ensure" were misused (insure), and the grammar seemed just a bit off. No fine print of further details on the back. Called the 1886931044 number. Man picked up and did the classic, "please verify your information" scam. Finally googled the number and found these reviews. Beware folks.
These guys sent me a bill for $315.47 for past due UPS charges. I always pre-pay for any UPS shipment.
This is an absolute scam. They send a bill in the U.S. mail pretending to be from UPS.
Fake bill colorless black and white don’t trust this a hopeless attempt at scamming me never pay your bills through the mail or if the mail tells you to call a number
I too received the scammer's fraudulent billing telephone call from the following number: 800-468-8823. We were asked to use code 19 in order to complete an expedited payment online in order to avoid third party collections. We also received a "Phoney" invoice in the amount of $21.92 by mail. The invoice did not even have our correct account number on it.
Just like the others, I received a legit "Account Suspension" letter. It looked very real and had my shipper#, and real address. When I logged in to my ups account, the charges were there. However, it was about a transaction that I never performed. It even had senders and receivers that I never heard about. For one charge it was this: Sender : Howard Blair Kabar Manufacturing Corp. 140 Scmitt Blvd. Farmingdale, NY 11735 Receiver: Dave Kendziorek Test Equipment Dist NJ 220 W Parkway Pompton Plns, NJ 07444 For another charge it was: Sender : WILLIAM PETRHELIA KABAR MFG CORP FARMINGDALE, NY 11735 and same receiver. I contacted ups and they dismissed the charges. Here is my conversation with them: LIEZA B: Let me check what I can do. May I ask for the tracking number, please? Me: It is actually about fraud LIEZA B: That's not good to know. Are you the shipper or the receiver? Me: That's the thing, I am not either one! Me: My account was used to ship and now I am being charged LIEZA B: Thank you for making us aware of the situation and I need to connect you to a representative who specializes in Billing. Can I connect you now? Me: Yes Ayerim V: It appears the charge was an inbound collect shipment from another shipper. Most likely a an error was made when providing the account number to bill. Ayerim V: I can go ahead reverse the charges, just give me a moment. Ayerim V: Would you want us to block the shippers account umber from future inbound charges ? Me: yeah Ayerim V: Thank you I have reversed all the charges and blocked the shippers number from future inbound charges to your account Me: There is no balance on my account now? Ayerim V: If you review your billing center in 24 hours you will find the invoices will be closed and no payment is need on your part. Me: OK Thank you. Me: What was the actual problem? Me: Why did this happen? .Ayerim V: The charge was an inbound collect shipment from another shipper. Most likely a an error was made when providing the account number to bill. Ayerim V: The account number they intended to charged must be very similar to yours Ayerim V: With the block we entered today you wont see any future charges from that shipper. Me: So you think this was a mistake or someone used my account on purpose? Ayerim V: Its a common mistake key entry , when shippers are billing to other accounts
Contacted UPS via a their contact number on the website about a "Suspension Notice". A few things to consider: 1- Yes, it was a real Shipping number on the "invoice" that was associated with me in the past, but not used in a few years. 2- Yes, I really was charged a certain amount, according to UPS. 3- The charge was for a package that I never shipped nor ordered to be shipped to me. It was To and From within the state of Utah. I live in Florida. 4- The address - UPS, Lockbox 577, Carol Stream, IL" is associated with a prolific scam artist and is one of his scam locations. Please read the site linked here: http://medicalwhistleblower.blogspot.com/2011/03/teen-challenge-received-money-from.html 5- the number on the letter - 888-693-1044 - has been associated with scams. So... real charge? Yes. Scam? Yes. The hopes of the scammer is that you will call the fake number and pay over the phone or send check/money via the address at the bottom. I have made a fraud report via a UPS billing representative. Surely this stuff can be hindered from continuing.
I Received a legit looking "Suspension Notice" letter from UPS with my shipper # stating I owed $241.00 with no website info but to either call 888-693-1044 immediately or tear of the bottom and send payment to avoid this action.
Received a legit looking "Suspension Notice" letter from UPS with my shipper # stating I owed $125 with no website info but to either call 888-693-1044 immediately or tear of the bottom and send payment to avoid this action. I forwarded a copy to [email protected]!
