Saying they are TELUS, could be true, the number is listed, but they didn't sound professional.

Fake caller ID pretending to be Telus.

They are calling me about updating accounts details, but the info they disclosed was never mine, so they cannot be a legitimate line, possibly the Telus number was spoofed.

It is an actual telus number but it is possible that the number is 'spoofed' and the person calling is not actually from Telus. If they ask you for your telus pin number over the phone, it is probably a scam. If they send you an email and its not from telus (i.e. i.telus.com instead of telus.com), its probably a scam. Do not give out any personal information such as banking, credit card numbers, SIN numbers etc. If the deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.

We have received at least 50 calls from this number in the past twelve months. So I called Telus about it. They confirmed that this is indeed a Telus marketing number. So it is definitely NOT a phishing scam.
