AOL verification. It was supposed to come in as a text, but was a phone call instead (so I let it go to vmail). The vmail contained the pin for me to get back into my account.

Did not answer the call and they did not leave a message... obviously a typical beginning for scammers.

Suddenly, I couldn't sign in to AOL. I tried my other AOL accounts and couldn't get into them either. When I clicked "I don't know my PW", it asked me to choose a way to receive a new one. I clicked text. Got a call from 408-6104900 and a robot called out 6 numbers. Decided to try one of my other AOL sign on's as I felt leary. Now, it won't let me sign in until I also s provide a 2nd email, it's password and another phone number for verification purpose. If this is REALLY AOL, they are doing a terrible job of providing reassurance that this is valid.

Message was in Chinese (I think...) I am familiar with many languages, but not 100% certain. Shortly before receiving two calls back to back with identical messages left, I received a text with I think Chinese characters and the letters gpsspam. I blocked bot tge texting number and calling number.

I got a call from 408-610-4900 at 4:39 AM!! There was a nonsensical voicemail message left (something about Yahoo), then I got another call 1 minute later and another message left. Then a 3rd call 1 minute later, at 4:41 AM! The same voicemail was left all 3 times! I wish I knew who to yell at for waking me up at that hour!!

this number called me 3 times within 5 minutes. I blocked the number after the second call but it still rang so i ended up just unplugging the phone. When i answered all it would say its that it was something for aol and gave a verification code.

My AOL email (yes, I still use AOL only because I've had the account for 30 years) was hacked and hi-jacked last month. I had to verify my identity with AOL and took 3 fays to get my account back. I received a call from this number today and it rang once and hung up. I called it back ONLY because about 5 seconds prior I received an e-mail stating that someone just logged into my AOL account and it wasn't me. It was logged in from Florida and I'm in AZ. The message said if I received a call someone tried to log into an account that used a 2 step verification process and that's AOL. OR someone tried to make a purchase in my name using on of my on-live accounts.
