A concise, fact based snapshot is provided below. Information is limited and mixed across sources; no definitive public record confirms a single owner, but multiple third party sites flag potential risk signals for similar numbers. Exercise caution when answering or returning calls to unknown numbers. 1. Ownership or type: The number +1 612 351 3173 (Minnesota, Minneapolis area) would typically be a local US number. Public directories or carrier data for this exact line are not consistently corroborated across widely used lookup services, so definitive ownership is not established here. In absence of a verifiable owner, it appears as a general telephony line rather than a clearly labeled corporate or institutional contact. 2. Online discussions and reports: Several crowd sourced platforms encourage user submitted reports on unknown numbers, but for this exact sequence there is limited or inconsistent verifiable discussion. Some entries on generic caller databases show fragmented notes, while others show no histories. Overall, there are some community opinions but nothing consistently confirming provenance. 3. Association with spam, scams, or telemarketing: There is no universally consistent evidence tying this precise number to spam or scams across authoritative databases. Some user contributed pages hint at nuisance calls from similar prefixes, but none provide a high confidence label for this exact number. 4. Public exposure or leakage: The number does appear in public facing lookup databases and caller report repositories in principle, but there is no clear indication that it is widely leaked or breached. It may be present in standard public directories or reverse lookup services, rather than in breached data dumps or paste sites. 5. Advice on answering or calling back: Given the uncertainty and the general caution observed around unknown numbers, it is prudent not to answer or to let voicemail screen the call. If the call is legitimate, a voicemail or a known contact will identify itself; avoid sharing sensitive information with unknown callers. Note: If precise, up to date verification is required, consult dedicated, reputable number forwarding or consumer protection databases and consider using caller ID services or a temporary call block until more authoritative confirmation is obtained.

Called my work cell. We have no customers or suppliers in that area code which made it suspicious right away. So I googled the number. Based on other comments about this number, I'm adding it to one of the silent ringtone spam / scam contacts so I won't hear it ring again.

Debt relief company. I returned call and got a BoTT. Not sure if I would ever have made it to a real person or would want to.

Caller id of "NOT IN USE" tells you these are CRIMINALS. Call Type is SCAMMERS/FRAUDSTERS. This number has called us numerous times and is BLOCKED. BUT less than 10 minutes later got a call from 630-800-3918 in "ILLINOIS" which is probably SPOOFED and from the SAME CRIMINAL SOURCE. THAT one is BLOCKED now, also!
