A concise, fact based report could not be completed with reliable, verifiable data accessed in this moment. No definitive attribution or current public records could be confirmed here for the exact number +1 800 223 9899, so the analysis remains preliminary and provisional. 1. Ownership or number type: No verified, up to date attribution available in this response to determine whether it belongs to a company, carrier, mobile, premium rate, or institutional entity. Do not rely on this answer as a final assessment; verify with trusted directories or your carrier before returning calls [best practice: screen unknown toll free numbers; use caller ID/verification]. Note: If more time or access to live web verification is allowed, a focused lookup across updated spam report databases and reverse lookup services could yield a definitive verdict for this exact number.

Call wanting to collect money from a local hospital. Only problem is 1. I never in my life have had a single thing done there. 2. That hospital closed and was bulldozed into the earth around 4 or 5 years ago. Scam caller.

Knew my name and email address. Said they were representing St. Joseph Mercy Hospital. Mentioned a past due bill. I was suspicious due to only dealing with the hospital directly.

It's a legit company. I didn't know the doctor was sending my bill via email, and I was only paying the paper bills. So, I did have an overdue bill. When I called, they didn't ask for SSN as other callers mentioned. They were able to tell me enough info that I could verify through the doctor directly.

They called and left a msg that they were calling about a hospital I have been to in the past. If this is a collection call, why haven’t I received any bills through the mail from the hospital and/or them? I think it is a scam. I will not be returning their call and block the number, although I’m sure they have many other numbers to call from.

Have no idea who this is, why they are calling...they left no name, any identifying information, or reason for call. Sound like a scam or fraud. Read other reviews. Five words: unlawful debt collection practices act...its a thing As an aside, I owe no monies to any hospital, physician, etc.

Says their calling for my hospital. (I owe perhaps a thousand to insurance company but not for more then a month so why would it be a collection company & I always pay whats due anyhow) Tried calling them back but want my social #. (Hospital probably already has that). Sounds like their "FISHING" for info- Adding to BLOCK list.

St Joseph Regional Medical Center uses them and turns in the bills before they are even a month old - be careful we double triple check the date of date of service and patient account number followed by the date of service record I PAY ONLY St Joseph directly for friend has medicare and St. Joseph accounting system i not in sync it takes them some time close to a month to post payments so beware you could be overpaying for services rendered ALso you do not give you your social security # to anyone no matter what - they have it on record if with the bill turned over to them -

They call constantly. In my opinion, third party debt collection should be against the law. You owe your original creditor, not these debt collectors that purchase these debts for pennies on the dollar yet will rob you and make you pay the full amount plus interest and penalties. All that in spite of the fact that you never contracted with them as far as the debt is concerned.

They would tell you that they are not a collection agency when in fact they are cause they ask for personal information when they should already have it. So in turn this company is a collection agency and has broken every regulation pertaining to the fair debt collection practice act.

A lady on the other insisted that this is a "business matter". But would not tell any thing unless we provide all our details. Sounded like a scam call. We asked if you could at-least provide what would be the "business matter"; but it kept on going in loops all the time. Seriously, people do not have authority to threaten us on calls. Companies like this should be treated like criminals. They need to pay us for harassment. I feel threatened and harnessed. We are scared of them and will make every effort against the threat.

After repeated calls from NPAS, I called my hospital billing service and they told me that NPAS was a 3rd party collection agency and to not deal with them. I had paid my bill directly to the hospital and my account showed no balance due. Do not deal with these people. Deal with your medical provider directly.

This number has been calling me several times and I did answer and the lady asked for all my information. I asked what is she billing me for. She states it is for hospital bills. I tell her I don't owe anyone anything because I just had a baby and my insurance is paying everything 100%. She claims I owe money and needed my information. I refused everything but my address. She then continued to say I owe money and she will be needing to take a payment. I then told her I am not paying them a dime because I owe them nothing. I then hung up on her and not received a call since then. I checked my insurance companies and they have paid ALL my bills.

The first thing they said was do to privacy laws that I would HAVE to give my social security number for verification. She also said is there someone with the last name starting with S, I said, you talk me b**tch, you called me. She said they were trying to get in touch with the senior citizen that had a very large outstanding medical bills so they could give assistance. I then said, the only thing you want to assist with is either robbing my bank account or some other type of scam....I NEVER give my social security number to anyone let alone someone who calls incessantly and leaves no message when the answering machine goes off. I told her yes, you have gotten ahold of a seventy year old Senior citizen but this senior isn't senile b*tch. Take my number off your call list. By the way I hope you enjoy prison time because while I kept you on the phone, your number was being traced. I had the police put a TRAP on my line so they could take down scam artists like you. She said very quickly...."ma'am your number is being removed from our list as we speak. I said, well dear....that was just too little too late. You've just earned yourself 3 hots and a cot for quite a few months, but at least you'll be warm throughout the Winter. When I told them that there was a TRAP on my phone because of the numerous scam calls I was getting, she couldn't get off the line quick enough!!! Revenge is soooo sweet!! I hope she sleeps well tonight. bwahaahaa, bwahaahaa...

The caller FINALLY left their company name : NPAS. Looked up number and see here that NPAS = National Patient Account Services. They said were calling to speak with my mother about a "business matter." She is in a nursing home so I am guessing it's about a medical bill. I said I'd pass on the message to her. Good luck with her calling them back--she's not in any condition to even call us! I've now blocked their number.

Got a call from this number, from a woman who could barely (and I do mean barely) speak English, insisting that we provide a date of birth and address before should would say why she was calling. Uh, no, that's a prelude to identity theft. We called the number back and got someone who spoke our language, but still went in circles over the DOB and address. Finally, she explained it was a billing issue from our medical provider -- except that we've already paid the bill and have the data to prove it. I understand medical practices have a problem with debt collection, but these kind of tactics won't help.

I have been receiving many calls from this low life caller this past week or so. I finally decided to answer the phone. If I could understand the woman on the other end correctly, she knew my name and said she was calling about my local medical center. She needed my address and date of birth. Uh, not so fast snapperhead. I questioned her purpose. She said is was a business matter. I finally told her to have my medical center type me a letter and mail it to my home. The interesting thing is I think this is the same company continuously sending me outstanding bills to my home. The charges were supposedly settled many time over.

The caller claimed to be from Empass about a matter with Denton Regional Medical Center, but wanted my address, etc. I have no outstanding bills from that hospital except one I am making monthly payments on, and I'm not behind or late. I am going to call the hospital tomorrow to check and see if this company has any relation to them, and if they reported a bill to them which I have not seen, outside of the payment arrangement which was made with them several months ago to pay off a copay in 12 months. I told the woman that I wasn't going to give her any information over the phone as she could be anybody claiming to be anybody. So I don't really know what type of call it was, other than bogus. As an additional bonus the caller had a very distinct accent and was hard to understand.

This number, 800-223-9899, has called me three times in the past week. Has information about a doctor's visit, and the doctor's name, and my home address. Tries to tell me I owe $187. I said the doctor had been paid, he (and she) said, no this was through the hospital. He doesn't go through the hospital. I called the number back today...Enpath (sounds like). Automated and tells you to push buttons to get to a live person. I hung up.
