The number +1 800 288 2020 appears in multiple user reported sources as a toll free line associated with AT&T related services or telemarketing, with a substantial pattern of unsolicited calls and potential spoofing. Public forums and scam report databases show mixed perceptions, including reports of debt collection or survey style scams, and some warnings about spoofing. Answering may expose personal information to unknown callers or spoofed identities. 1. What the number appears to be: A toll free 800 number commonly linked in reports to AT&T related calls or telemarketing, though some reports indicate spoofing or misidentification of the caller. The prevailing pattern in user contributed listings is as a business/telemarketer line, but spoofing complicates trust in identity. 2. What people say online: Numerous posts describe received calls, often unsolicited, with claims of being from AT&T or related services, and some discussions about spoofing and scams. Comment sections and call reporter databases frequently categorize it as telemarketing, debt collection, or suspicious. 3. Association with spam, scams, or phishing: Reported instances include telemarketing style calls and potential scams, sometimes involving requests for personal information; several sources warn about spoofed calls pretending to be legitimate services. Overall, there is enough cautionary evidence to treat as potentially harmful. 4. Public exposure or leakage: The number appears in multiple public facing scam/telemarketer databases and community forums, suggesting it is publicly cataloged and discussed, though not all entries confirm legitimacy. Presence in public directories and reporting sites indicates exposure. 5. Advice on answering or calling back: Calling back or answering carries risk due to spoofing and potential scams; best practice is to let unknown 800 numbers go to voicemail or verify via official company channels rather than returning calls. Do not share personal information with the caller.

If you receive a call from a person with a near East, hang, I repeat hang up. These are scammers who will tell you that your computer has a bug or your telephone lines have run afoul. I fell one time and it cost me.
Stupid, stupid, stupid. We have a prepaid Tracfone and the only people who have our number is family living overseas !!!! Yet, scum bugs, POS are able to find our name to make stupid call. If number belongs to AT&T, they are stupid for not protecting their # and making it so easy for spammers to spoof the number and make stupid scam calls. AT&T - USA's stupid phone company and scammer's best friend !!!!
when I saw unavailable I just pick up the phone and hit the keys to block the number. If I don't see a valid Id I just block the number
Someone is spoofing this number (which ID shows is AT&T) to commit fraud. They asked me to answer a short survey about customer satisfaction in return for a $20 credit to my wireless ATT account. I fell for it. I gave them my passcode and last four of SS#. Fortunately, as soon as I hung up, I felt something wasn't right. I immediately called AT&T Global Fraud department and reported it. The scammers had already added a new sign-in and authorized user to my ATT account. They had also gone to Best Buy and attempted to purchase equipment. So glad I caught this quickly and At&T shut them out of my account.
It's a prerecorded message, stating an account # that isn't mine, and is asking for me to return the call. This number has called me 4 times now.
Called at 11:45 PM...I don't have Uverse or At&t. Scam!!!
Got a text telling me they had changed the password on my account, and if I did not make this change, to call this number. Screw them.
Called AT&T. This call did not come from them. They advised me to report as fraud.
Called my Verizon cell phone on friday January 16,2014 and I do not have service with at&t but the guy who called pretended to be from that company asking me for my name and asked if I knew person that actually know.I like to knos how they got my number and why they would be calling my cell phone for no reason at all. This is for sure a scam.
Called my non ATT cell phone about the U-Verse account, I do not have U-verse, just the standard ATT slow mo wireless.. I told him he was a scammer n hung up, then called the # back from att landline and lady tells me "might have been a COLD call" but she didn't think att did that, she ck'd my account and couldn't fine any reason for them to call me!
Suspicious. I had a message left from "AT&T" regarding my U-Verse account. I DONT HAVE A U-VERSE ACCOUNT!
This call is really untrustworthy. He ask me to pay my bills but I think it's just a scam. They want our personals data
