For me this number wasn't a scam. This is absolutely AT&T. They left me a message about my past due bill which is past due, lol. I also called the number back and it is AT&T.

AT&T phishing scam. They call asking for payment. They get your pass-code, then ask for your credit card info. They got my pass-code but before I game them my credit card info I asked for them to send me an email to validate their identity, and they said "we can't do that here." I said send any kind of email to verify your identity. They said, "Well in that case..." (hung-up). LOL, they were good too, they had me going; they sounded like legit representation.

They called from (423) 953-6546 a number from Tennessee saying they were AT&T and wanted me to call them back at 800 947-5096. I never call back these numbers. I call AT&T from the phone numbers on their web site!

1-800-947-5096 called claiming to be AT&T. I went to the AT&T store and they sad this is not one of their numbers and to never answer this number again, and to block it. Also customer care at AT&T called a friends phone today and it ended up being a scammer and she had to go to the AT&T store and replace her phone and SIM card.

Seems to be legit. My bill is past due and when I listened to the message left they wanted me to call them back at that number or access my bill online at att.com I'm not going to call them back but will be accessing my account online and paying that way.

I didn't answer but voice message said to "press 1... press 7 to pause for authorized billing contact... press 9 if that person is not available". Since call came in on my cell I hung up and called my cell provider directly. Found no problem. Have no idea who or what the call was from/about.
